As for the person that said prices aren’t going down even though the tariffs were deemed illegal, they’re correct. Shit didn’t go down after Covid price hikes or tRumps first term tariffs were gone. It’s price gouging 101.

Didn't want to bump other threads but noticed today that Hasan is repping an antihero cap.  He seems to make fashion choices with purpose so curious as to how that happened.

Just imagine how loud the cheering will be. The absolute joy that will be felt and expressed by tens of millions of Americans who pour into the city streets. The millions, if not billions, who are situated around the globe that enthusiastically shout from the depths of their souls, "rot in hell, tRump!"

With each day that passes, that day draws nearer.

Not gonna happen. As states and businesses sue the DOJ and Treasury for money lost from tariffs, MAGA will once again argue, "where are we going to get the money to pay for this?"

While ignoring the fact they never questioned these spenditures:
$10,000,000,000 for Trump's lawsuit for having his taxes released
$10,000,000,000 to Board of Peace which allows Trump to spend it as he sees
$1,000,000,000 to retrofit the security for the plane Trump accepted from the Saudis
$400,000,000 on unapproved East Wing Construction on the White House
$200,000,000 on two new planes for Kristi Noem
$250,000+ per BMW for Kash Patel knowing he has a fleet of Chevys

Trump always goes to the Supreme Court when he does not like lower court rulings. He has to respect the Supreme Court. Also, who will collect and pay tariffs now? And I expect lawsuits from other countries. I think this is the one that puts to bed this nonsense.

He and his maga regime will not. You are still thinking in democratic terms.

We may end up paying interest to the companies that paid tariffs.

Also, this may be a bureaucratic nightmare. Not all the tariffs go away, just the one's Trump used a 1977 law to justify.

All of the grift bothers me, but the bolded costs above annoy me on a personal level. American government officials having shitty American made cars is actually a point of pride. It shows that they aren't in those positions for their our own gain, but to do good.

Same with the Kennedy Center

And speaking of renaming, Florida House passed a bill to rename West Palm Beach Airport to Donald Trump Airport. Just days after Trump filed a trademark for the name, which means Floridians’ tax money will go to paying Trump licensing fees every year for the use of the name.

Look up Pam Bondi’s brother, a lawyer as well. He got hired by a big firm and a lot of his big clients’ cases are suddenly being dropped and or easily settled by the DOJ. Earning him big paychecks and position within his firm.

Not suspicious, right?

How do you buy a already paid tariff? Is there a really a market for already paid bills for the hopes that there is a policy change or a refund offered?

How can ownership of everything be transferred from one person to another.

Assume Lurper Inc is cash poor due to tariffs. I come to you and give you cash for the right to sue the government on behalf of the amount you paid. However, I get all the money if I win.

I always thought this country can’t get any worse for the past year, but I keep getting proven wrong. After the Renee Good execution, I lost the tiny bit of faith I had in America.

In the Epstein files, Peter Thiel and Epstein talked about pushing culture wars to divide people, so they can run the country into the ground, in order to buy businesses and land for cheap.

Aside from MacKenzie Scott and Melinda Gates, every billionaire is a piece of shit.

They’re still pieces of shit, in my opinion, because they are complicit in the ways they & their now ex-husbands earned their money. All the money Scott givesnaway doesn’t undo businesses she shut down, the stress induced illnesses workers have, the warehouse workers whose jobs are threatened if they leave during a tornado, etc.

I am not opposed to them giving their money away to positive causes but the system is setup to where neither will ever have less money. I want to see a billionaire throw their millions at identifying and overturning bad laws, like the one in Arizona from the 1800s that led to the abortion ban, i.e. Root out the rotten system.

Well, now tRumps decisions about tariffs and pushing Argentinian beef are starting to make sense. Bankrupt the farms and buy their land for your developers and tech bros for pennies. Gotta love skuM and theils push for this administration.

Soy bean farmers are going to have find another crop or go bankrupt. Trump gave Argentina a bail out and allowed them sell Soy Beans to China way to go dumb ass.

Trump basically collapsed an entire sector that we should do well in. Probably sending the Argentina bailout to them to launder it. Sick.

And he did it TWICE. He fucked them over in 2018 with his trade war with China resulting in many losing half their contracts, requiring a $16,000,000,000 bailout from taxpayers.

Then farmers voted for him AGAIN and AGAIN and now lost their livlihoods.

Best part is when you hear them rant, they blame the “gubbamint” for not taking care of Americans. Trying to deflect that TRUMP IS THE GUBBAMINT!

Fuck those farmers. Let them lose their farms.

Also, Kash Patel’s PR said that the FBI Director was not at the Olympics on taxpayers’ dime and that any instance of it is fake news.

Motherfucker was just caught on camera partying in the US Mens Hockey’s locker room, celebrating with them after winning gold.

That’s more than I thought the DOJ would let get out.

Also, former ICE attorney who was also the whistleblower testified to congress that recruits weren’t taught gun safety and constitutional rights of protestors while also being instructed to teach recruits to violate the 4th amendment.

2%?? JESUS. What’s the hold up? Nevermind, it’d be so much worse if they had dropped even more by now. Not like it’s gonna lead to accountability or consequences.

There’s this article from an anti-ICE journalist who was handed a job there because the only thorough thing they do is shoot innocent civilians: https://archive.ph/20260202183327/https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2026/01/ice-recruitment-minneapolis-shooting.html

And John Oliver is back for anyone who wants his summary of ICE. Basically, DHS has lowered the standards of employment so much almost anyone can get hired. Except that even then some of the applicants failed an open book test. I am so embarrassed by my country.

State of the Union personal recap:

-The opening applause was almost humorously lengthy. This, I think, could have been the entirety of the event for dear D.

-A protester was removed at the beginning of the speech: I didn’t catch what his sign said, but it was grasped at by someone as he was escorted out.

-Ilhan Ohmar loudly vocalized her dismay; the only person on camera to have done so (I may have missed someone).

-Multiple family tragedies due to illegal aliens were mentioned and Delilah’s law was introduced.

-An investment fund is being provided to some children, funded by Dell’s founder; you’ll have to find the numbers for this.

-The Men’s hockey team was the first surprise game show like appearance. Jack Hughes was the only member who approached Eric Voler’s level of comportment.

-Eric Voler was presented the Congressional Medal of Honor along with a centenarian WWII veteran.

-The President said he’d award himself it if the law changed. And, prior to that he hinted at a third term.

-There was near unanimous support from the minority party only once: when firefighters were commended.

I did wonder if JD Vance likes black metal and why Mike Johnson definitely doesn’t.

Watching a few of these other countries like England and France start holding investigations in regards to the files will only make this country look worse for doing nothing.

just to chime in about that from a French perspective: the only person really involved in all this for the moment seems to be Jack Lang. and it's just unbelievable that guy is still around and being paid off public money...He's 86! He was minister for Culture when Mitterand, the first French socialist president came to power in 81. I was still in primary school! and I'm old myself  ::)
he was still president of the Arab World Institute in Paris until February, till the Epstein thing.
plus the guy has signed numerous petitions in support of pedophiles, in the glory days of Foucaut and the French intellectuals of 1968 (the "nothing is forbidden" days), he was also famously caught "fooling around" with young moroccon boys in Casablanca, in the 2000's....Good riddance.
