Even if Tucker started to speak like a true democratic socialist I couldn’t listen to him for that long. I cannot stand his voice and manner of speaking. He’s also an incredibly ignorant and stupid person.

Yes, it seems like he’s positioning himself for a world after Trump. Trump is turning 80 soon.

A JD Vance/Tucker presidency would be horrible.

And he’ll be running for president in 2028

Damn, y’all: I covered your homie’s unpersuasive retort. Then decided not to let y’all hide after stepping in. And you roll together with these faux associations.

It’s cool, go on with your very-not-unlike-Trump discursive methods: bullying, intimidation, divisiveness. No worries: it’s just e-politics in ‘26. That is, sure to resolve issues.

Is the war back on?

Missile strikes, Korean boat on fire, and Iranian boats hit, but no real market reaction yet. After hours NQ=F (Nasdaq 100) is up and so is YM=F (DOW).

It never stopped, and the ceasefire was purely so US/Israel could restock weapons. Republicans call it a skirmish or conflict and Israel never stopped attacking its neighbors. Trump is trying to control the strait, but the Iranian government said that their boats weren’t hit. If I had to choose between the Iranian government and a pathological-lying pedophile, I would believe Iran.

I don’t know much about the stock market, but gasoline prices went up by $1.50/gallon in my area between the last time I filled gas and yesterday. Gasoline is a necessity for most people, so high oil prices won’t affect sales that much, and most of our goods come from China, whose supply chain is probably minimally affected by the war.

The "restart" of the war is also a nice distraction from Republicans trying to quietly pass a $72,000,000,000 reconciliation bill where $1,000,000,000 will be used for Trump's ballroom. You know, the one that was supposed to be paid with private donor money. Where do you think that money went all of a sudden?

We need to just tax the wealthiest people in the country. It is crazy to me how much they fight having to pitch in.

I've made barely enough to live on and more than I can live on. In the years where I was making more than I could live on, the taxes didn't even matter. Like, it doesn't matter when you have enough to live comfortably and put money into savings. It is rewarding to say that you are pitching in to support the country.

And, the math for those who are very comfortable makes taxes even less relevant.

Let's say a single person in California makes 230K per year.
Taxes:
- 72K for federal and state taxes and social Security and such
Pre-Tax Costs:
- 1500 for medical (they have a good job and good insurance)
Pre-Tax Investments
-20K in 401K
Post-Tax/Post-Pre-Tax investments: Take Home Income
-130K take home

Their take home is 10,800 a month. If we assume they are spending 7.8K for a very comfortable ass life, they have another 3K to invest each month. Their yearly invest is 46K and even if they don't decrease their tax burden by doing a backdoor Roth IRA or maxing out an FSA. Their "tax burden" will have erased from their investments in 13.9 years if we assume a favorable 7% growth.

And, this is the low-end of upper-middle class. If someone is making millions or billions each year. There is no reason this shit shouldn't be taxed to the moon. Those who run fastest or got luckiest deserve a bit more of a reward than the rest of us, but at this level of wealth it isn't material goods, it is power. It fucks up democracy.

So, if Hantavirus becomes another outbreak in the US — which it will because Trump gutted the CDC, removed us from WHO, and put Mr. Brain Worms in charge of surveying pandemics — what kind of hobbies are you going to get into?

I might build a mini ramp in my garage so I can still skate as well as learn to garden.

LOL. I have a good feeling that Juul and Altria were some of the "private donors" to Trump's ballroom.

Glad he's working hard to make sure people can get mango flavored vapes rather than, you know, finding out ways to bring down prices and prevent US soldiers from being killed.

Meanwhile, LA can't have menthol anymore. The fact that FDA of all agencies approved fruit flavored vapes reads like a fucking Onion article. Trump started this whole fruit flavored ban back in the first administration when some youts got sick from some bootleg cannabis vape oil and turned that into all flavored vapes were on purpose trying to hook and kill the teenage user base ASAP

His Chief of Staff, Susie Wiles’ tobacco industry friends/donors visited the White House right before Trump decided to pressure the FDA to allow mango and blueberry vapes.

Quite the coincidence, right?

I don't think it is a good sign that Bibi's wants are getting coverage in the US media.

Trump bluster is just nonsense, but I worry because Bibi's lust for war is getting attention again that might mean the ceasefire isn't going to hold.

Gotta' shore up those youth votes for the upcoming mid-terms...

The sad part that is that I feel like a lot of youth voters will be swayed by manipulative tactics like this, especially with critical thinking seemingly being in rare supply these days...

I'm ready to go back to my seriously misanthropic and nihilistic ways at this point...

This was a weird development out of that. Hot take but it all feels like authoritarian reality tv. If we had a bunch of kangaroo courts I could see this being an imminent threat but mostly the rule of law is holding, outside of the state and federal Supreme Courts which have been ratfucked. But then I also worry that because of the race to gerrymander since the gutting of the Voting Rights Act that the Senate is now out of reach and that the last two years are gonna be even worse shit while we all hold out breath to see if we have another election. Look at me talking about this upcoming one like it's for sure gonna happen.

Is that the one where he declared anyone that's gay, a leftist, aka non-MAGA will be labeled as a domestic terrorist? Then yea, he's been ranting about it for years.

Also, anyone see that he's stopping $1.3B in medicare from CA because of "suspected fraud?" Always suspected and never confirmed. And it's always blue states.

I read about both of those but he does and says so much fucked up shit, I’m getting kind of desensitized. We pay taxes that either go into the pockets of billionaires or towards bombing people overseas. At the same time, law enforcement executes people for fun while American media bitches about China and Iran violating human rights.

These are all ghouls. There's a bill on the ballot in California that would temporarily add a half cent sales tax to make up for the BBB shortfalls. It's likely to pass. So just in time for CA to not have to make painful cuts oh wow there's fraud who found that your little dipshit mormon kid? How's his Pulitzer coming?

It's also: be trans and/or oppose fascism, we'll label and charge you as a domestic terrorist.

Also, it's not good for Democracy, it's good for Trump. He's building a loyal base who will be willing to fight and die for HIM, not for the country. He's shown time and time again, he rewards loyalty.

So should Dems take the midterms and want to impeach him and/or try him for the Epstein files, he has a MAGA army that will be willing to kill in his name.
