Well there you go and done it.

Now I can’t ever enjoy the movie ever again.

Pretty cool that the director knew and employed Huf as stunt double for his movies prior to Elf.

*Meanwhile, Elf IS on a skateboard. A Primitive Skateboard, that is.

Thanks y’all. It’s been fun.

That movie is peak early 2000’s nightmare. Will Ferrell (& Adam Sandler while we’re at it) at their height of popularity were truly abhorrent examples of pop culture comedy.

Merry Christmas & happy holidays to most of you.

Merry Christmas, cheer up!

Paul Rod does not run the company.  He’s quite clear about how he has nothing to do with D2D ops in the same breath as he pretends to be business man on these goofy podcasts (citing GH as the person who pointed this shit out)

Hit a hot button with me there (and Hanukkah starts Christmas night)

Adam Sandler makes garbage movies (I’m talking Adam Sandler/Happy Madison movies that he sticks his friends and family and wife into - not his rare Punch Drunk Love or Uncut Gems).   Sony hacks revealed employees of the company were literally embarrassed to be in the business of making his movies (dreck like Pixels had just come out) and he was forced to become a Netflix star because movie audiences were too embarrassed to be seen in public watching his movies so Netflix is the black bag hiding the porno mag purchases that is watching Hubie Halloween, Ridiculous 6, or You Are So Not Invited to My Bar Mitzvah.   Try watching Eight Crazy Nights and see how that stacks up to WF’s lesser Christmas movie Spirited Away.    Not to mention he’s a republican and still supports his goofy/problematic right wing friends like Rob Schneider and Kevin James who hate trans people (while Will Ferrell did the amazing Will & Harper).   Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, Wedding Singer and 50 First Dates are fine, but he’s never getting back to those, but instead we’re getting Happy Gilmore 2 with Travis Kelce and Bad Bunny!

Not saying Will Ferrell always hits them out of the park, but he has at least a respectable batting average and certified classics.  Dude was killing it in Austin Powers and Zoolander before he was even a name.   Adam Sandler can still be funny.   Enjoyed his recent special on Netflix.  Problem is he puts zero effort into his movies and admits he’s done a ton of them as an excuse to take a paid vacation - which is cool for him, but kind of a fuck you to people who had to pay to watch Blended, Just go for it, etc

Farrell made movies with known hate-crimer and christian mogul Mark Walburg, whomst've I'd say is a much bigger piece of shit than deuce or mall cop guy combined. And Will sang the n word on live tv. And if we didn't have Adam Sandler we wouldn't have Norm, who is for some the greatest comedian that ever lived. Norm gave all credit for his career to Sandler. But I do like Will Farrell and he makes much better movies, even the shit ones.

I believe that was Robert Goulet singing Big Poppa… but fr I’m not going to wag my finger over jokes like that back when societal standards weren’t where they are now.  Sandler movies have plenty of ill-advised racial caricatures played by Rob Schneider and probably a bunch of gay jokes that would be a massive bummer now in Chuck and Larry.

(And I think Mel Gibson was the true bummer of a collaboration WF did)

1. every movie with will ferrell in it is funny in spite of will ferrell's presence, not because of it, whereas every funny movie with adam sandler is funny because he's funny and fairly charismatic. ferrell is a rizz vacuum with two good characters, the guy in wedding crashers and bitch hunter
2. will ferrell has never made the successful jump to drama and will never be in a single movie as good as uncut gems, which is a powerhouse performance that counts for at least five
3. will ferrell has been in plenty of clunkers, especially lately, their batting averages are probably fairly close. you're telling me you love strays?
4. sandler's politics aren't great but he's a middle aged dude from bensonhurst, at least he has the common sense to keep them to himself - and, like others have said, to NOT work with fucking mel gibson and mark wahlburg in the 2020s

Re: Wahlberg.   Are we all damning everyone with the same brush who has ever worked with him?   Bc I’ll wait to hear people talk shit on PT Anderson, Scorsese, Optimus Prime, Denzel, Christian Bale, Tina Fey, Steve Carrell, Tim Burton, Spike Jonze, off the top of my head have worked with him.    Shit, google Sandler and Wahlberg and you can find many pics of them chilling courtside at a basketball game.

Comedy is subjective so I can’t really debate whether Adam Sandler saying Shabadoo is funnier or less funny than any thing in Step Brothers.   But I don’t think making the jump to drama is any big sign of anything as if drama is inherently better or of more value than making a comedy.

But really my issue is Adam Sandler movies just seem so quarter-assed and even if doesn’t work Will Ferrell movies seem like an effort was made even if it didn’t work out.

Hahaha for sure about Real being a qualifier but that’s probably why no one flagged it as unpaid for product promotion.

Didnt think the day would ev er come but I agree with Applebum on this one. Sandler had the combination of good fortune and good sense to do two drama roles that were tailormade for him with maybe the strongest contemporary American directors at their respective prime.

On the other hand, Ferrel improvs a lot of his stuff (I'm not an expert but thats what I remember people raving about while Sandler feels 100% prewritten). His material in Eastbound and Down is so far above anything Sandler has ever done it's not even a contest.

But of course it's the politics that makes the main difference for me.

Comedy is subjective. Same with skateboarding. Same with holiday movies.

Adam Sandler and Will Ferrell are the same exact thing tho. All of the shit you can say about one and you can say about the other. Like their entire careers are literally the same fuckin thing to a t. Even that make movies so your friends can get paid shit. Its all ghe same.

The drama genre is cool for Sandler but it's not a critique against Ferrell.

i thought it was rad when heath hit the mega ramp but that thought didn't occur to me until it happened. If he never did it wouldn't change my opinion on him in the slightest.
