Some people like Reynolds and Creager do them with a nice bouncy kickflip and that makes all the difference, as opposed to the throw-it-up-on-there style (Daveed, Spanly)

Slappies should die out as "cool". Hear me out....They are difficult for people who are used to ollies, so are any differently leveraged trick (pressure flips, primo stands, whatever).

I don't care if someone does any trick but stop marketing it as the cool thing to do when you hit 40, or worse, the cool thing to do while you're young and don't have a hip impingement stopping you from ollies.  Small ledge tricks are already low impact enough for anyone under 70. Don't sell yourself short.

If it's not good enough for a video game trick it's not good enough for any serious skateboarder. Become a filmer and do something productive if you're that fried.

Any grown man that takes his toy that seriously should re-evaluate some things

Part of me is disappointed Reynolds is on Numeric now.  I sort of like the alternate timeline where Reynolds doesn’t join Numeric and actually makes his own shoe, hires away Jeff Mikut from # and starts his own shoe co under Baker Boys, bringing in Spanky more recently too.  Not sure how Hours, Warsaw etc are faring right now, but Drew’s maybe only one who could make it really work in this tricky climate.

But I can see how the events in our present timeline could be better for Reynolds and Mikut’s wallets - steady income from corporate salaries vs. all the expenses generated from investment in skater owned startup costs.  And really hard to beat the economies of scale the corporate brands benefit from.

Still swap decks once the chip is bad and I can definitely see me running them longer or maybe even trying to woodglue them or fill the missing chip area with something.

Skateboarding already stupid expensive in the 90s/early 00s in Aus (honestly don't know how I ever managed) but it did teach me to super glue chips back into boards. Its not perfect but I think it works fine/is better than skating a board with a chunk missing out of it
