pro tip - use a razor to cut the N logo off your new balance if its high contrast from the background
or a seam ripper
Seam ripper is a super-underrated little tool for taking wack logos off of all sorts of thrift store/ebay gear. Big dumb dyrdek patch on a hoodie? Gone! Silly Tommy Hilfiger flag on an otherwise respectable pair of jeans? Couple flicks of the wrist and your past-high school dignity is restored!
But…
The new balance “N” has somehow come full circle for me, and entered “so bad it’s good” territory. I mean, it’s a dull, uncreative bit of design. Literally the laziest thing you could put on a shoe. It was bad in the 80s and it’s bad now. But in sticking with it, and insisting against all odds on their lumpy beige dad identity, NB has earned my (grudging) respect.
Their “wide” shoes are still pointy and uncomfortable though.
