Real has a great team and makes quality boards but it’s the 2nd most bland major brand in skateboarding.
Santa Cruz is the most bland and real comes right after imo.
Every pro I like that’s on real I would love to see them on other brands.

Also bland doesn’t equal wack. There are def brands that are wack and I don’t think real is wack.

Unfortunately I agree. Real was one of the sickest brands back in the day but with no real art direction everything feels sterile and sorta “one size fits all”

It’s puzzling how they’ve arrived at this with how much history and impact the brand has. Maybe it’s intentional

Real has a few standouts from the board specs perspective, like the 7.75x29.5x13 true mid or the 8.12x31.3x14. The first is really great for kids and I swear by the second, so that alone makes them my favorite board brand. From a marketing/graphic design perspective they are bland as hell, I agree.

For someone that just has skating as a hobby and isn't involved financially, I really love where skateboarding is right now.

We get blessed with at least one great video a month with crews all over the world. We have huckers, creative types, varying skill levels, cool spots, and crisp HD footage.

Going on SLAP makes it seem like skating is in some miserable phase. I don't see it.

I highly disagree with you on the last part of your thoughts (respectfully of course).

 Tbh if a brand (Real dlxsf) does what it does and hasn't folded because of it then why go against it? Sooooooo many other teams have folded twice over when switching up the game.

From the early 90s to where it is now they have/had some heavy hitters on their squad.  I'll concede the graphics can be meh sometimes...

However everyone knows that if you're under the DLXSF umbrella you've made it  and taken seriously, those that have left or booted I'm sure regret it at some point.

Asics trying to be arty feels really contrived. Nike, Adidas, NB etc. don't try to be something they're not, they know they are sports brands with no real image. A company that makes jogging shoes can never have the vibe of a cool board brand or the vibe of the core shoe brands before these brands took over

There's no way u think Vinyl is a cool guy brand!? Honestly if ur skating at all ur probably a lil bit of a cool guy y'know? Hard to go wrong.
