Panasonic dvx-100a dv port problem

I installed an ieee 1394 pci express card on my windows 10 computer. My computer recognised the card just fine and it should work. The problem is that any software does not find my camera when its connected. Does anyone know a solution that might fix my problem or is my dv port just fried...

you might need to borrow a capture camera, when those came out my job had a bunch and at least half the firewire ports went out on them
