1967, what is there to be a fan of exactly. Duh I’m from Toronto so I’ll dedicate half my life watching a puck go back and forth, all for a team that hasn’t won a cup in 58 years. (I’m from Toronto).

I used to regularly listen, and loved the 9 club (years ago).  Looked forward to Mondays.  Then the Jason Jesse/Mark Oblow/ fiasco.  They don't have a backbone and are boring, that's it.  Also, I couldn't take how out of touch everyone is.  I guess that's what happens when all you do is skate, and everything else is skate related.  Just end the damn show.  Gary V? Huberman? Get the fuck out of here. I guess the older I get I realize how stupid the idols I used to have are.

For the love of god please tell me the idols you used to have are not Chris Roberts, Kelly Heart, Mark Oblow, or Gary V!?

The follow list gets worse over time. You can see early on he was just following skate shit whereas, more recently its Trump, Bezos, Gates. who the hell is he tweeting to. dudes got 126 followers lmao. Guy lives in Santa Monica, skates on the beach everyday and works on a successful tv YouTube show (hot ones not nine club)

He’s been involved with the skateboard industry his whole adult life which is so many people’s dream.

His life doesn’t suck, he does. On a fundamental level he just fucking sucks. A million other people would be so grateful to have what he has but at his core he’s a bitter person who got teased in grade school and just let his hate fester. He may not be wealthy but he’s living the American dream and wants to pull up the ladder behind him like so many others.

I have an opportunity to email Roger directly. I asked him about working on the Save Skateboarding project because I am really interested in that, and I sent him the spreadsheet I made about trucks. He wrote me back and gave me his email address and said he was stoked on it. Then I saw the interview + thread, and I got a bit bummed and have felt really conflicted the past few days.

I don't really believe in tearing people down anymore at this point in my life. is there anything helpful that I could say to him?
They have given some shitty people platforms and shown a major lack of empathy on sensitive topics is what seems to be what is bumming a lot of us out. I think everyone wants to like the 9 club from a fan perspective and wants them to succeed... and does not wish bad things on those people... I am not very good at navigating these kind of things
