CIRCA Catalog 2002

Saw the old Osiris thread and just scanned an old Circa catalog I had.

Adrian’s first model was so sick, loved the two tone colorways, he also did a grey/red colorway like the Ellingtons but I doubt there’s any pictures out there now of those

I remember I found some world industries shoes that looked like the red/white muska. They were 20$ at champs. I wore them to school and got picked on for wearing them, and some kid tried to stand up for me, and I was like nah, bro. I’m wearing world industries. This is cool skate shit, you guys don’t know cause you’re lame.

Anyway, they were the worst shoes ever. Like me maybe 2 years into being able to do the basics consistently could tell it was a bad shoe

That Jamie Thomas mid-top version never came out right? Definitely had a couple pairs of the regular Jamie Thomas one but I don’t remember ever seeing the mid-tops…

That Appleyard in the blue and gray with the white laces and orange accents always felt like the quintessential Circa shoe to me.

gnar'd. i enjoyed looking at the old stuff. nostalgia hits heavily. crazy to think that back in my early skateyears circa was like on top of the industry.

The 301 high tops? They came out, I had a pair of them that I believe I got on sale from CCS. Didn't wear them much, wore them to a weed festival up in Maine when I was 16, it rained for 3 days straight, they got absolutely covered in mud and then they disappeared... Kind of wish I still had them though.

Definitely had other pairs of the JT301 and CM703, my buddy had the JT801 and CM503. I thought Circa was so tight at that time, but I was also 13... I wanted some C1 denim so bad too...

Damn, I think this catalog might have been my all time favorite, I think I skated like half this catalog, even the Muska 802s. Those things were interesting.

I remember being slightly bummed with the MA402s because it was the closest thing i could find to CX201s, but they grew on me real fast.

Circa could easily make an ES style return. Small batches of reissues for way too much money. I’m pretty sure they’re technically still in business

To Circa's credit, they were never shy about trying a ton of stuff season to season. They tried to do an ipath cats type of shoe for a few seasons, and a bunch of other goofy shit that ended up getting returned or going to sale piles. Hardly anybody bought (or asked for) any of it, but it was still neat to see how many items they ran every season.

JT301's and JT801's were both good shoes, though the 801's I remember ya couldn't feel shit.  it was scary skating them down gaps at first because it was impossible to tell if the board was under your feet or not.

ha, friend loved the appleyards and thought they were the best shoes ever.  he was pretty opinionated.

301's were good shoes.
