a friend of mine who usually doesn't skate bombed a hill last week and fell.

dude hit his head so hard that he's got brain damage.

that's why i don't bomb hills anymore, i'm too old to get fucked up doing some shit like that.

fuck. I read this topic hoping for a rad thread about how awesome bombing hills is.

Now I'm just bummed.

I stick to the smaller/casual ones anyway... Oh well.

Sorry about your buddy. That sucks. Him not skating normally might have a lot to do with him falling so badly though. Not that it can't happen to anyone, but still.

I blew my acl after getting savage wobbles bombing a medium to large sized hill in the dark a couple years ago. I tried to hop off and run that shit it out.

I got broke off.
It was fucked. My knee went into grapefruit mode.

my boy tiger blew out his ec tendon in his shoulder bombing a hill with another friend and myself on my birthday.

we were drinking and it was night, probably a bad idea but it was really fun until he ate shit.

dude will probably be ok, he got out of the hospital and doesn't really know his head from his ass but after a month or so they're saying he should be more or less back to normal. i'm absolutely sure that him not being a skateboarder had probably almost everything to do with it, but with that said, you ever bomb a hill so big that you pass traffic?

i'm not a teenager anymore, i don't need those adrenaline rushes.

and just for the record, nobody has to show any condolences, i don't feel bad one bit for my buddy, he knew what he was doing when he decided to fuck around.

but yeah, shit can be real scary. that's the last fucking thing i need right now.

I use to bomb this fucking gnarly hill in my town... and when we got to the botttom. the only way to slow down was to ride into someones yard. And we would ride across the entire front lawn.. and roll into their driveway.

I get wheel bite if I don't land bolts so it may not be a good idea for me to bomb hills. Although recently I saw some kids on bikes (is it considered bombing if it's on a bike?) on this hill on the other side of my neighborhood and I really want to go there with the copious amounts of free time I have and bomb it.

It's fun just going down big hills and shit, dodging traffic and whatever. I've had a couple of close calls though; one night I was hauling balls down a hill and didn't see a speed bump, but I managed to get over it. Another night it was late and I was out bombing a huge, sketchy hill and hit a rock. There was blood everywhere and I got six or seven scars. Be careful.

i had to pull off the baseball slide last week because i didn't wanna try and make a turn into traffic going down a hill. ripped the the pants a little bit, but saved my organs. i think i'd rather baseball slide than try and run it out anyday of the week.

i remember some young rippers showed up in my hood a few years back so being the nice guy i am, i took them to a bunch of spots and they totally killed it, but then i took them to bomb this hill and they just walked down.
is it possible to gain someones respect and lose it in the same day. $:-\$

I just do mellow hills and keep it simple.

I probably almost died on a hillbomb at Simon Fraser University in Van a couple years ago
and I don't ever want those thoughts going through my mind again.

Remember, brand new swiss bearings + brand new bones street formula wheels+ long steep hill bomb = recipe for disaster.

I had the most insane speed whobbles and couldn't jump off because I knew my legs would get jacked if I did.
The hill didn't really mellow out, it just ended in a cul de sac with jersey barriers..
My board went into the jersey barriers with me jumping into the bushes behind. What I didn't know was that there was boulders and bushes
behind the barriers. My head landed just a couple inches from a massive rock. My friends couldn't believe I walked out of there with just some blood.

Bombing hills is fun as fuck, but if you are to scared then it is a good idea to stay away. Last time I did a big one I got wobbles and lost my shoe running out, got a heel bruise, but manned up and did the rest of the hill.

Fuck it I might skate the small one out front, after 10 pushes you almost feel like you are going fast.

a couple of years ago i bombed this pretty small hill..just as i hit an intersection, this 80 year old women ran a red light. I managed to move *with* the car as opposed to flat-out getting hit. I was on the hood of her car in a Superman position for a good 3 seconds before hopping off.

the lady kept driving off at the same speed she was going as if the whole "almost killing a human being" situation didnt faze her. I honestly doubt she knew what just happened.

now i usually carve my way down a hill instead of straightup bombing it. Im glad my bearings suck.

the first time i tried to bomb a legit hill i had probably been skating for a year. it was this crazy(at the time) double hill that went around a bend. i was skating with loose trucks for the first time with shorts on and i came around the bend and started to get wobbles. i didn't know what to do so i tried to run it out which left me with two sprained ankles and the skin ripped from my elbows and knees

tell me about it. i have another story that i completely forgot about:

two summers ago i started riding extremely loose trucks again and the first day i did i bombed a similar hill to the first one. this time the hill curved to the left and i was hauling ass down it. i started to powerslide backside around the turn and thought i was going down. i somehow turned back and started to get wobbles but instead of jumping off i stood straight up with my arms completely stretched out trying to regain my balance. i get pitched face first into the ground and got knocked out. i came too and my face was covered in blood and so were my hands, i was shaking out of control, and i didn't know where i was or what happened(it took me a few hours to remember it). i spent ten minutes looking for my board that was directly in front of me. my mom thought that i was going to have a giant scar on my face for the rest of my life but within two weeks i looked normal again

sfa i was planning on coming to shred for keenan but i think it is going to rain plus the kid i was going to go with is now going to the reschedueled morrissey concert, and dave has to go to some eb game of skate or something, and i kind of made plans to go with some girl to the aquarium
on the 13th i am going to my friend jons art show at orchard but i can skate earlier in the day and i am good that whole weekend

oooohh it would've been bad to return home after that.. if i fall hard, i hold grudges against the spot. but you can't getz a hill.
