I got these in today.

[close]
Just got a pair too, did the heel seem stiff to you? The heels feel a little different, like when I step on my board I feel all of the concave. I think once they break in more they'll feel normal.

It felt a little stiff for the first day that I wore them, but they feel normal now. I haven't skated in them yet, though.
Just picked up these Arto Lows and Mids for a good price.

I've been skating my Arto mids for a couple months now. They skate really well. The regular ones tear up kinda easy, but they are pretty chill.

stoked!

Lucky man. I saw a pair of these at a Ross store a few months ago, but they were in size 10 and I wear 11. If they had been 10,5 I woulda picked them up.

Just put these in my skate rotation, NB# Brighton Mids. I only have about 2 hours on them but so far so good. They're a thin mid that fits really snug and close to your foot, similar to how the Lakai Howard Lo fit, so if you have super wide feet they may not work for you. Excellent board feel and low profile vulc sole with excellent grip. I like the look because they don't look like a traditional skate shoe. I'm curious to see how the durability plays out.

You think they look like Janoski's? I've never owned a pair of Janoski's. Other than it's a mid, I thought the die pattern was completely different. I'll have to check them out.

EDIT: Went and checked on them, I don't think they are looking too much like Janoski, other than they're both considered mids.

they just didnt have the stitching on the toe go all the way to the side panel, which is what i personally think makes it have that boat shoe look.  That being said i think for this being a janoski-esque shoe they didnt just blatantly rip it off like so many other companies had

Hey SP - they are Autobahn Appleyard 53mm, the dual duro model. They are excellent wheels for all terrain, rough city streets and spots or smooth skateparks. The Autobahn Pepper pro is also the same shape.

its like the side pannels are what most companies used to try to emulate.  People gave the ramondettas shit for looking like a knock off janoski too, so its not just newbalance getting singled out.  The side pannels and the way theyre attache, too high up to be an oldskool/blazer/skate style shoe, and went more towards the boat shoe aesthetic instead

I think that's just how the sole is designed to look, for whatever reason

^ The tread pattern is just a bit thicker in the forefoot area to increase durability. But yeah, upon first glance it looks like the shoe is going bald.

Yeah, Stoeinpoes, that's just how the tread pattern is designed. It's pretty thick. The forefoot area has that balding look for whatever reason, but it's still grippy.

I have no personal interest in hyping NB# for any reason, I'm stoked on the shoes. And even if they do look like Janoski's, the fit couldn't be any more different. When I swung through the shop last night I tried on the Janoski's - as a result of this thread - and they are bulky and clunky, where the Brighton Mids fit REALLY snug to your foot with literally zero dead space in the shoe.

To each their own.

because the Janoski is far from original.
While you may see a janoski, some of us see a vans chukka with sk8-hi stitching on the toe.
Some may see a sperry-ellis rip-off.

I must say I don't like Nike SB and all the shit they do, but I've been wanting to skate a pair of dunks ever snce I saw that old On Tap promo, and I found these for cheap so I couldn't resist. I'm waiting for my G6's to die out to shred these.

I had the exact same pair after my G6.

Dunks are great.

Once worn in they skate so well. The toe material takes some loosening up though...

I found the G6 hurt my feet towards the end...
