it's not that noticeable in person, but I feel you. it helped that they were super cheap.

Anyone skated the Chima's? How do they break in? I just got a pair and the duracap makes the toe so stiff it's hard for it to flex at all.

I got some and they eventually did stretch a bit, but it took a while.

Second pair.

Overall, its a great shoe. It takes a bit to break in but then they're really flexible. Good pointy toe shape and good flick. It reminds me of the Gravis Arto.
That being said, the shoe seems designed to self-destruct. I'm skating the Static black canvas (which is some sort of treated material, stiffer than  normal canvas) and they're wearing very quickly.

So they take a bit to wear in and wear quickly?  Sounds ideal.

Good point. But as a retail slave for VF Corp, a sweet deal on shoes is my only perk.

Just picked up these black white and gum Puigs.  Perfect colorway on a perfect shoe.  Now they just need a white with black stripes on a gum sole and never stop making them.

those are rad.   nice grab

I loved my pair, they lasted me longer than any shoe I've skated in the past year. I can't decide between this colorway or the all black..

I'm one of those "dont do it" guys, but goddamn Adidas is doing it right.

For the Adidas guys - are the Seeleys even made for skateboarding? I know that sounds goofy, but I ask because the soles are awful. I can't figure out how/why the vulc soles on the Seeley mid are so different than the Silas/Buz/Rayado I've skated (and loved) in the past.

All of those soles have been soft and grippy, but the Seeley mid have a legitimate slippery sole. Never had a vulc feel this slippery. Just odd, but no chance in hell I can skate them.

On my second pair of these. I've been seeing some mixed reviews on these, but I love em.

I've been skating the skytop 3 for the past week or so and I have to say that im not really a fan of them. No board feel, a lil too bulky and then heel of Tue shoe keeps slipping out. I don't know how people live this shoe but I'm not a fan. Gonna go out tomorrow and see if I can get some shoes for cheap before my trip.

That's funny, I'm skating them now and really like them a lot. They were kind of a bitch to break in though I agree, the sole was pretty slippery/stiff and it was hard to feel. I walked around in them for awhile and have been skating them, and all those issues are improved. Maybe get something else for your trip, but I wouldn't give up on them completely. All of the issues are just during the break in period.

I do a bunch of wallie and wallie variations every time I go skate and thin shoes do not hold up well when I do them so I probably shouldn't have gotten the Howards. I've been skating them for about a week and I'm already starting to see my sock. Hopefully the Griffins I ordered hold up better.

The Griffins are much thinner than the Howards, but you probably already knew that? I'm skating them right now and they feel great and are holding up very well for a thin vulc which is what I usually skate.

The Griffins aren't THAT thin. There's tons of shoes out there that are way thinner.

The upper is thin, but the sole is thick. In fact that's the one thing I don't like about the shoe.
