My thoughts exactly, I just give them away to little kids who wear the same size after I am done with them.

I have a pair of Lunar one shots in my trunk that needs a new home.

This! I work for a shoe company and thus reap the benefits of being able to switch up shoes frequently. I take my "old" shoes down to the skatepark from time to time and give them to kids.
The problem is finding kids that rock 11.5

Anyway, some funky floral Vans for spring shredding.

I wear 11.5 if you ever want to kick some my way  :-* :-* :-*

Same here.

Also, I have a few questions: has anyone skated the Hufnagel pros from Huf (the first one)?  I picked them up on a sale and since Chicago had such a horrible winter I haven't had a chance to skate them yet (or finish off my Herman G6s really), but I've been wearing them to work lately and it seems like the edges of the sole are already getting worn down, just from day-to-day walking.  Are they really that bad?

And how's the Gilbet pro feel?  It looks close enough to the AV6 (which I loved) that I kinda want to try it, but I'm much more of a cupsole guy.

Horrible heel slip for me in the Huf pros.  Plus they blew open at the seem after 2 time skating them.

Skated the Crocketts a couple times before f'ing my back up again and really liked them but no long term experience with them.

Do Deklines hold up well? How do they skate? Also sizing? Any and all feedback would be much appreciated.

Deklines fit true to size. I wear 10 on all nike, adidas, vans, etnies models i have had and dekline size 10s fit me perfectly. Actually emerica is the only brand that i have had to go down half a size. Deklines last as long as you would think they would. The sole is super grippy and doesnt go bald fast, it actually outlasts the ollie and kickflip areas by far. For a slim vulc they hold up as well as any other shoe of the same type. To me thats around 3 weeks and 25-30 hours of skating.

I shouldn't have skated them right out of the box because they are very rigid and narrow, it took me the whole session to be at ease. I'm gonna alternate with these and a pair of era pros.

Besides the fear of ankle roll that everyone gets just from looking at these, how are they otherwise?
I like how they look. I'd probably just use them as chill shoes.
Although they do remind me of  the Rowley xl2, which I skated and didn't mind. But the sole on those Silas look much narrower.

surprisingly one of the longest lasting shoes ive had in a while. got them originally for skating but they look so damn good with every kind of pants/shorts i own that i scaled them back to casual/transportation skating and walking around. pretty light shoes so i wouldnt try anything big in them but for cruising around they feel so good on the board. def getting another pair

Been trying to get some old skool pros for so long but no place in town ever carries them. Hyped the vans store had them yesterday. Sucks I had to pay full price though since I had a coupon last week for 30% off. Definitely worth it though as I probably won't have a chance to get these again. Might order the black and white ones next. The pros are such an upgrade from the normal ones.

Does your ankle feel like its ready to roll under that unconventional heel?  I've heard that a sturdy heel is more important than ankle support (like high tops) for rolled ankles
[close]

no, it doesnt feel like it's ready to roll and after not skating ledges all winter I gave 'em plenty of opportunities to roll while dancing around on top of, and running out of, an overwaxed ledge this weekend.

despite everyone's concern, they feel fine.

also, I used to love skating in the ES Contract (and the Rowley XLX) back when that was out and it had the same heel thing going on and never gave any problems.

but hey, by the same token, don't blame me if you roll your ankle wearing a pair...

adidas silas slr after skated 4 hours (two 2 hour sessions)
true to size.
very comfortable.
very grippy.
mesh tongue (comfy/breathable) with center straps
mix between the buz pro (shape and fit, minus the raised heel), adv (fit and grip and minimal seams), and puig (thin sidewalls (although not sprint skin), fit (locks in your heel).

They are really narrow but at the same time your feet are locked inside the shoe, and I like that. They are just really stiff at first, so I'm walking around with them before really skating them again. Bu frankly, I don't understand the angkle-rolling-fear with those.

However, I think I still prefer the adi-ease/buzenitz vulc.

Thanks to all who responded, I appreciate it.
I don't have any worries about rolling my ankle. It's just when this shoe showed up in the upcoming releases, a lot of people made that assumption based on the sole.

Emerica - Tempster. First pair of Canvas shoes and I can say I am impressed. I used to be wary of canvas anything but these have changed my opinion on it.

Yea if I really like the way these skate (which I love old skools so why wouldn't I?) then I'm going to grab the black and white ones forsure. I just don't like ordering stuff off line but the black and white old skool pros look so good and are so hard to come by.

Es Holbrook lo. I think I bought these before ankle surgery a couple years ago, so I never skated them. Ankles been feeling really good lately, so I broke them out of the closet to skate. Think it was my first vulc in years too, I was weary at first but it had surprisingly good support, wasn't too skinny like a lot of vulcs and was incredibly comfortable/cushiony. I really enjoyed skating them, got some good clips with em too but the grip went bald in like 3 sessions and they got pretty sweaty, breathability was not good. Would have thrown them out, but I'll keep them as filmer shoes since they're already bald.

Skating these currently, the local shop owner recommended them, haven't had vans in years. The old skools were a favorite of mine performance wise when I was younger, but just don't have enough padding/support for my feet anymore. These have everything I liked about old skools, but with a huge increase in comfort, durability, support and fit. Pretty stiff at first but break in so nicely without being too floppy. My biggest complaint is breathability with these, they worse then the Es, feet just soaked in sweat after a session. The tongue moves a bit which is annoying but not too big an issue. Don't pass them up if you like vulcs.

I've been on a serious vulc tip lately haha, just picked these up on sale off the DC website. I haven't gotten them yet, but definitely stoked to try them, seems similar to the Holbrooks with superior tech. Will give a little review after I skate them.
