Some fucking New Balances Hashtags. Im checking to see if they will be good to order in for the shop

Which model are you skating? The Stratford is a killer skate shoe. I've also skated the Brighton Mid, which I also liked but wasn't super crazy about the sole pattern.

Skating these currently, the local shop owner recommended them, haven't had vans in years. The old skools were a favorite of mine performance wise when I was younger, but just don't have enough padding/support for my feet anymore. These have everything I liked about old skools, but with a huge increase in comfort, durability, support and fit. Pretty stiff at first but break in so nicely without being too floppy. My biggest complaint is breathability with these, they worse then the Es, feet just soaked in sweat after a session. The tongue moves a bit which is annoying but not too big an issue. Don't pass them up if you like vulcs.

Is the cushioning on these any better than your average Vulc? I'm more of a cupsole guy but I've been tempted to try out some wafflecups like these or the older Stage 4s. They never seem to have my size in stores.

Yeah the cushioning is definitely better then other Vans vulc models, I usually prefer cupsoles also, but I'm not disappointed with them. My feet aren't hurting too bad after a session and I can wear them casually, pretty comfortable.

They're soooo stiff. I had to stop wearing mine. I felt like when my feet would start sweating, they would start moving within the shoe. Last night I swear they rubbed my little toe on both feet RAW. Wearing these today because of it.

Shoes with good ventilation have been on my mind now that it's been getting warmer outside, so does anyone have any recommendations? I've been think about the Emerica Provosts, but beyond that I have no idea. No Nikes please.

The Reynolds 3s are some of the best shoes that I have skated in a long time.  They are a pretty thick suede that holds up well but have a really breathable tongue and the medial side is the same breathable material...

@bbk - The BB4's are beauts.

I've been integrating a few new pairs of shoes into my skate rotation, and none of them can hold a candle to that XLK sole. I keep going back to my Lakai every time.

Just got these

Didnt really intend on skating them but the snow finally melted so I went for it.
First high top I have skated and I barely notice it.
Pretty comfortable, broke in pretty quick. Came with the lunarlon insole, which is key.
Super solid tread, the toe cap has worn pretty slow and looks like it will last a while. Suede is holding up swell as well.

Skating those

XLK sole is really good.

I'm not sure about how the suede is going to hold, but the shoe is feeling really good after 3 sessions and the suede is holding as well.

I don't think those are going to outlast the Emerica Reynolds that just won't ever die, but the board feeling and grip is way better than the Reynolds.

I think it's a good alternative to Dunks or Reynolds, if you're searching for more board feel.

These were the best shoes I've skated in a long time, until the third session when a hole appeared, even after applying some shoe goo after the second session. Luckily I got them on sale. The grip is even starting to go bald. Don't buy these unless you have money to blow, they're on sale, or you want to shoe goo them after every session.?  They feel great, though.

I'll go back to Habitat Austyns for now, which will take at least a month to blow out with the grip still intact.

I want to support Lakai or Huf, but neither of them make a decent thin shoe. Hopefully they get it right with those new MJs.

The hole started after only 3 sessions??? Won't be buying huf's anytime soon.

Skating Sutters are like skating suede Vans authentics
Even with shoe goo, they were some of the shortest lived shoes I've ever skated. Sucks because I really wanted to like them

My Sutters actually lasted me a good while. I probably skated them for ~15 hours and they're still good, although the grip did get flat pretty quick.

I'm skating the lows.  I really like them. Grippy, lots of cushioning, and decent board feel.  Would like to try the mids at some point.

I skated a pair of Adi-Ease awhile back. I went with my true size and they weren't quite snug, almost felt like I could have gone a half size down. They're thin vulc shoes so there's really no support. Also, idk if my toe nails are too long, but on my switch shoe, my big toe managed to poke a hole through the suede and I stopped skating them at that point. I did enjoy them though

fit: true to size, but can get away with .5 down if you like em snug.  a lil more narrow than old skools.
feel:  very comfortable for a thin vulc.  the 'gonz, nestor, eldridge, fairfax, etc' tend to have a smidge better insole than the standard blk/wht ones.  also, the canvas ones actually last a bit long than typical canvas vulcs because of the sole and foxing tape.  check the ripped laces review for better explanation: http://www.rippedlaces.com/2011/09/adidas-adi-ease-gonz-shoe-review/
skate:  extra grippy, great flick

i've skated a couple pair in the past, and i have three pair i'll be rotating through for this spring/summer

Thought I ordered DC Kremers, but I never finalized it. Ended up finding something else I'm much more stoked on right now, I'll get the kremers during the summer.

Found these on ebay, pretty stoked they don't look like the average skate shoe, shit gets way too boring to look at. Going to shred the fuck out of them.

Yeah so? I know they're boots, but these are definitely skateable, they're flat on bottom and I heard they're really light. I got them because they look like timbs.
