Huf Galaxy
These skate good. I dig.
Say what you will about Huf, but after years of working for a major "skate" shoe company, it feels nice to have a local brand on the feet.
[close]

my friend just bought these, he said for a standard looking vulc, they skate and feel better than most, if not all, on the market.
[close]

anyone skate both the huf galaxy and buz vulc and have a comparison they can share?

I haven't skate the Galaxy, but I had Busenitz vulcs and I got a hole at the bottom in like 2 weeks and that was during a time when I wasn't skating so often.

yeah, alot of people have had that problem with the Buz vulc.  I'm skating some right now and havent had a problem yet (only skated about 6 hours in them).  I'm generally pretty delicate with the soles of my shoes, so we'll see how it goes.  So far I effin love em and was wondering how the Galaxy compares.

The buz vulc sole is the only reason I haven't bought more then one pair. They are such a comfortable shoe and it bums me out that the sole has to be so shitty.

first day in these... no board feel whatsoever

I have these, in a different colorway in my closet. I havent worn them yet, other than try them out, but they feel rock hard.

I've got a feeling they are the Slam City Skates collab. If you look at the back they have the grey strip.

Too bad they didn't keep making the 1st colorway. That is the only one I'd want to wear.

maybe you're already doing this but just manhandle those shoes a bit before you skate em to soften the structure of the whole thing. just twist and fold up the shoe in a bunch of different ways until it's feeling more flexible. fuck, run them over with the car. but no reason to nuke your kicks. i mean, unless you have a microwave specifically for that. at least that's what i'd do.

yeah thats all i ever do with my shoes and usually it takes only a few days walking around in them or just 15-20 minutes of actual skating til they're fully broken in. I never really have a problem with stiff shoes because i make sure the soles have already been flexed plenty of times before i even put them on. I never understood the whole microwaving your shoes thing that sounds ghetto as fuck honestly. Reminds me of an old friend from the hood who'd "clean" his ps1 disks by flushing them in the toilet & drying them off...i imagine microwave heat isn't too good for the glue & materials in the shoe if y'all do that shit and your soles fall apart at the seams then you know why

so weird to skate a cupsole again, and one that feels nearly tinner than vulc shoes. maybe already a little too thin for me personally, but there is nothing bad to say about them. lasting very well too. emerica killed it again.

I retired these to lawn shoes after skating in them for a good 3 months, not because they were trashed, but more of just getting tired of them and having a bunch of shoes in the closet.  Probably one of the best vulc shoes ever, besides the Blazer.  Had to clean them up and start skating in them again.  I suck, so my sides never blow out before the soles.  Do most people here skate their shoes until they have holes in the soles?  Even though they're balding, the grip is still good.

Tried these on in the shop the other day, had to get them. Wore them out for the first time tonight, just dinner and walking around Target. Probably never buying a different shoe based on that alone.

funny enough, the camby was my shoe before the laced. it felt a little thicker than the romero, but in a good way. the romero seems to keep its shape better though. plus for the camby: they lasted forever (black suede/canvas version).

I skate them until I can't skate without getting a hole in my sock. If its a rip I'll shoe goo it but if its a hole I'll break out a new pair. I always have reserves stashed away because I like to buy the shoes I've already tried once they go on sale and I'll buy two pairs and store them.

If a shoe works for me, I do the same. I look for them on sale and store a few. The longest period was about two years with the same shoe (not actually the same shoe, but the same model). I only switched because there were so many other good looking shoes I wanted to try.
As for now, I am hooked again. Let's see how long it will last.
