back on the Silas SLR... they start to form to your feet perfectly after approx 10hr or so.  my only complaint still is that they dont have center straps for the tongue.  other than that, very solid shoe.
-Silas SLR-
[close]

I want these. is there the tongue hole for the laces at least? and I don't know if you ever had the Lucas shoe, but do these fit like them? I feel like they are kinda similar.

yeah, im pretty sure there is a center loop on the tongue for the laces (not wearing them at the moment).

they are VERY similar to the lucas shoe for the following reasons
1.  similar heel lock (maybe even a lil bit more than lucas)
2.  board feel (maybe a lil bit less than lucas)
3.  sidewalls (although the sprint skin is waaay better)
4.  fit (true to size in both)

they are sorta similar, but not for the following reasons
1. grip - the lucas are a bit grippier and the lucas sole probably lasts longer (havent skated the SLR to their death yet...have skated Lucas to death, so cant really say)
2. toe box - the lucas look like they'd have more room, and maybe they do have a lil more lateral movement, but similar feeling
3. wear - the silas SLR seems to be wearing faster

they are NOT similar for the following reasons
1. the lucas are WAAAY lighter
2. the lucas have WAAY better ventilation

CONCLUSION:  i prefer the Lucas, but the Silas SLR is pretty awesome and cheaper at retail (but you can find Lucas cheaper on sale and I havent really seen any Silas SLRs on sale (yet))

This is a killer post. Thanks Art for all the great info on these. If anyone is ever on the fence about the SLR, or considering buying them this is great feedback. Gnar'd.

I have been skating the AVE classics, superglued the canvas on the ollie area.  The insole is not heavily glued in like some vans, but it sucks.  It was pretty easy to rip out and replace with the insole from a pair of pro-classics.  I always get a 9 in vans and these fit fine in a 9 also, a bit roomy in the toe area but that's how I prefer my kicks.  Not much to report skating wise, the heel cap feels pretty sturdy which lends a bit of support, but otherwise a thin canvas shoe with the waffle grip we all know and love (or some of us know and love, or don't love... but whatever you get the idea).  A classic looking shoe though, all the right lines in all the right places.  Maybe a step up from authentics and eras construction wise but nothing crazy.

anybody skated the new vans av classics yet?
[close]

-vans ave classics-

will skate them soon...very comfortable, my foot pretty much locked into the shoe, will definitely buy another pair for sure.
[close]

Whats the sizing like? Like regular pro's? Was just thinking since there is less padding.. I always get 8 in era pro's and av native, but in regular eras I have to go 8.5 or even 9 almost.
[close]

i've worn size 9 vans for a while and these fit pretty true to size, not to tight in the toe. i would just order your normal size, they are definitely roomier than og eras.

Thanks man, im gonna try to find some with decent europe shipping

Always wanted the Adi Ease and finally got around to trying a pair and I love them especially in this colorway. Been skating these for a few weeks now and it's the best shoe I've skated in a while

small correction = there are centering straps...the tongue is sewn to the sidewalls.  it's just that the top of the tongue shifts around a bit.  also, there is no lace center (because it's sewn).

For all of you guys skating HUF's right now, do any of them feel slippery to you?  I feel like my Choice's are the perfect size, shape, etc. but are kind of slippery when skating.  They're pretty much like new.

Yeah, I have Peppers and they feel kind of slippery too. But this is also after wearing vans, so maybe I'm not the best judge.

I've been skating Hufs for my past few pair of shoes. Brand new they do feel slippery, the trick is to get them and wear them around casually. This will break them in, and get rid of that slippery feeling.

No, somebody hooked them up to me below retail because he knows I skate them. i skated the non-sb ones before (no difference in material or insole). they last me longer than any other shoe. three months going on four for these, just superglued the stitching beforehand.

I have about 15-20 hours on these. I'm a big fan of NB# shoes, in particular this Stratford shoe. Only minor gripe is that the stock laces are super long, so I switch them out right away. The insoles are outstanding. I posted a few months back that I got a look behind the curtain with what NB is doing with their skate program and I was impressed. The people behind the scenes are 100% down for skateboarding. There is no dastardly or diabolical plan to hurt "core" shoe brands.

Why don't you just cut them and melt the ends with a lighter?

Also, when did Will Easley focus again? Did he cause a scene?
