I'm confused

Is that a Dylan on the top, and a different shoe with a Dylan insole on the bottom?

Yep the grey ones were Osiris that cost me 20 bucks off 6pm. Liking the Dylans so far! I figure that if white wheels are the best than white cupsoles have to be the best as well and it's been a while since I've had black leather so I'm pretty stoked. Wouldn't have minded the Classic Lo if they were leather but they looked to be suede or maybe I saw something else that I didn't like and I've never spent this much on shoes before so I figure why the hell not. Good to quit cigarettes, quit coke, have money for nice things. :)

Damn they look nice. Really good looking shoe!

I know what you are saying about the fit, the midsole's heel to toe wedge is pretty aggressive.

you do get used to it really fast, and then if you move to another shoe, you miss it.  it ergonomically positions your calves or something scientific

Thanks heritage.

It's strange because i am using some BA's that have a high arch/thick forefoot and these have a high heel/thin forefoot. Really diferent shoes but comfy nonetheless. I still have a new pair of BA's that im chilling in so i don't know if i skate those or the busenitz next.

Has anyone else been having bad luck with Adidas's newer releases? Tried the ZX vulc, the Gonz shoe, and the Silas shoe, and they were all super uncomfortable and borderline unskateable.

The manner in which the Dylan tongue was sewn puts a knot at the top of my foot so I went out looking for a different pair of shoes and found these standard mid 2000's DVS style Nubuck Osiris for 50 bucks. What I really wanted was some adidas superstars to be completely honest.

Definitely interested to hear how they skate. I am skating a pair of Liberty that a friend flowed my way. They also have the heel and it's not noticeable.

How do those Gillette fit?

got mine a couple days ago as well. surprisingly comfortable (way more than the dylans.) No issues regarding the collar/achilles though I do definitely notice the heel, not a bad thing, but noticeable. Also swapped out the insole for one with more arch support.

Haha, funny the last few post have been about these when I just got in here to post them

Anyway, I have a fancy date this Friday and after reading his interviews and watching that last part I decided to give Mr. Gillette some of my money ... first thing I will say ... I picked up a Huf shoehorn when the Dylan's first came out and they were one of those not for sale special items and without it I'm not sure I could get my foot in these.  But, once in, the fit is great and the quality of the materials seems top notch and the heal isn't really noticeable.  I'm not sure I'll skate them, so hopefully the other guys will put in there thoughts after a few sessions.  Anyway, overall when the leather gives a bit, I think I'll be surprisingly into this shoe.  We'll see though ...

These look great. Love the brown leather. Coneklr, are they similar to the Dylan? Heel lock and so forth?

And it's funny you say about the interviews, as much as I don't really care for HUF brand shoes, I am willing to give these a look as a result of the interviews and edit he put out last week. Marketing does work from time to time.  ;D I wish Austyn was still on Habitat.

I'm on my third pair of Busenitz ADV's.  I've heard people on hear complain about the heel lock, but I haven't had such issues.  The only gripe I have is the ollie area eventually blows out in the exact same spot on all 3 pairs I've had, but they are above average in durability and the pro's of the shoe outweigh that.  Of course if you skate any shoe long enough, you're going to rip through them eventually.

I'm really excited to check out the Suciu ADV, though.  Looks like a Ronan outsole and profile minus the rubber bumper.  Only got to skate one pair of Ronan's but I loved them and they lasted forever.

I didn't have/wear my Huf Dylans for long but from what I remember, these feel similar as far as being snug to get in and then great when you finally get them on.  I do remember the heel lock feeling similar to this but the toe box area feels more comfortable to me on the Gillette from what I remember.

Thanks Coneklr! I was just talking to Art about the Dylan...I dug them out last week to give them another look/skate with an entirely open mind. I love the heel lock and how slim the shoe is. The leather is stiff, and the toe box is a little uncomfortable. But it looks like this Austyn shoe would be a better fit for me for those reasons. I also feel like the cupsole on the Dylan doesn't give great boardfeel.

^^^ sorry I don't know how to quote people on here I'm new to posting.  I loved the Dylan shoe I had about 3 pairs so far but I think the Austyn will be taking my money now it fits the foot snug cups the heel and had great board feel, my Dylan's lasted for ever but these seem to be skating even better imo.

Just got my Gillette's, and I have to say, in person the shoe looks killer. However, they are definitely not designed for high-arched feet (which I have), but they work. The leather is a little stiff and on the inside of my right shoe up by the laces, the leather has already began to wrinkle a bit, kinda bummed but whatever. The leather does look pretty good, but not premium quality that you'd see out of a Clarks boot. But like a Clarks boot, he shoes clank when you walk. I don't know if its because the soles are composed of a tougher material or what. To be honest though, the "heel" can't really be called a heel. Also, one of the shoes is digging into my heel, but not too bad, while the other is perfectly fine. Lastly, there is not a lot of breathability in these, my feet are definitely a little hot.

To be honest with you guys, I'm hyped on them, but I kind of expected more.
I’m a ghost that everyone can see.
