More NB# samples came in, all 533's. They sent me catalog's too. I guess I can post them on here.

[close]

Im doing a weartest on a pair of 533's now and have been loving em. I come from skating very thin shoes all the time so it's been kind of surprising how much I like them once I've worn them in a bit.
[close]

Like I said, best shoes out from any brand I have skated in a while. Only thing that blew out for me was the laces, never the shoes.

Yup that's what it's looking like it'll be for me as well. How many pairs of them do you have currently?! At least six

Skated these for a couple of hours today, I'm used to skating pretty thick cupsoles, the extra boardfeel was a nice change but after about 2 hours the arches of my feet were pretty sore.
not sure how i felt about these, had 2 pairs and both made my feet hurt on the ball of my foot

Yup, I specifically asked for them. I don't know how the other models skate, but the 533 are good enough.

I know I just posted the NB# Logan S 636 in the Set Up thread, but I also have these Lakai Griffin XLK in the rotation. Always been a huge fan of the XLK sole. Good heel lock and they skate great. Downside is I can't see them lasting long. The outsole is already burning like wildfire and I don't do many flip tricks. The suede seems super thin and the toe area is starting to ripple. Just sort of feels a little cheap, if that makes any sense. They do look killer on foot though. Really nice looking shoe.

I only have about 3 hours on them so far, so I'll update this after a few weeks.

And also the lamest looking. Of all the larger shoe brands that've come into skating, New Balance makes the least sense. Wackest shoes.

You tripping. New Balance has the most credibility out of any of these bigger brands hands down.
1. They are actually "core" in the running shoe game. That mightn't mean much to you but they don't make fucking yoga mats or taekwondo shoes or whatever, they focus on what they are good at making.
2. Ask anyone who actually runs who makes the best shoes. NB, Asics, Brooks etc. are names you'll hear. Nike/ Adidas won't be one of them.
3. Do you even sneaker? NB makes some of the most classic silhouettes out there.
4. Unlike Nike/ Adidas, NB# are focusing on quality/ actually improving their shoes. Go and compare their 1st line up to the current one; worlds apart in terms of quality and tech. Multiple people on here aren't just praising them for no reason. Nike quality has been declining since the get go and adidas (to borrow from another poster) is just rushing everything they put out these days.

on a different note, thought I'd try some huf classics since some people seem to like them

uncomfortable as hell and so far skate pretty poorly. I swore off huf shoes after skating in the arenas, which were terrible, but found these for $25 and couldn't help myself. barely worth it even at that price.

This is an inaccurate description of the Huf Classics. That shoes is one of the best on the market.

So New Balance is actually making a great skate shoe that everyones seems to like and you say they are wack, Huf makes an overpriced, unoriginal piece of shit and is one of the best right now. You must be right!

I don't get your argument. You'd rather support a giant corporation who makes running shoes and shoes for old men, than support a skater owned and operated brand that makes top quality products because?

I was wondering, do Busenitz always have padding under the tongue like the ones on Adidas website? Because I found some all leather black ones with gum soles on eBay but the seller says they don't have padding and I was wondering if they were fugazis or something. I think it said "Made in Vietnam" and not China where I'd assume Adidas is usually made. Looked alright anyway but I sorta thought it'd be cool to have some padding under a leather tongue. Go figure.

I rather support a brand that makes my feet feel well and skate good. That argument of supporting the skater owned brand doesnt apply to me when that same brand doesnt make products that are worth buying.
The only shoe i like in their catalog is the Dylan and that same one isnt even a original design, is his unreleased 2nd gravis shoe. Every other shoe is a copy of other brands shoes but 15/20 dollars more expensive, that to me is a joke and not beeing friendly to the skate comunity.
And by the quality i've heard and read lots of time (with a few exceptions) that the shoes arent that great, either in terms of durability or comfiness and that says a lot about quality (I like their clothes, goods tho)
New Balance makes some of the best running shoes ever, have killer and iconic silhouettes and are know for their quality. I trust them over Huf without blinking.

Man, if i'm sucking NB's dick your sucking Huf's one. My criticism is not some random hate towards them, I like Huf as a brand and their team gives them a lot of my respect, but their shoes are overrated, unoriginal and overpriced. Oh and I don't need to try their shoes to give a opinion when i see them turning to dust in my friends feet in a couple weeks. If i find a Huf shoe with a reasonable price and that i like, i have no problems in buying them and praising them to anyone.
You can keep buying your Huf Classics Cons rip off's, it's all good, but then dont say shit about other brands without actually try them, ha!

Edit: I open the Set-up thread and see this:

Really? I had a pair of the black/bone ones and I thought they were pretty good. On the other hand, I know two other people who had that colourway with the perforated suede and hated them so maybe it's just those or something.

huf classics cannot possibly be a 'good' shoe can they? i get that its personal preference, but there isn't even a tread pattern.
Suprisingly, there is an adequate amount of grip on the classics even though there isn't really a tread pattern. I had just come off skating vans and they were almost as grippy as those.

Love that colorway.  Almost scored a pair on the cheap ($60) but had to wait a couple days for my next paycheck.  Sadly, by the time I had the cash they had sold out in my size.  I'm just about done skating through my third pair and seeing as how they're being discontinued, picked up some Suciu ADV's.  Really different feeling shoe with a little more length in the toe and way better insoles.  Haven't had a chance to skate them yet as work's been busy, but looking forward to checking them out.  I will definitely miss the Busenitz ADV, though.

Please report back about the Sucius! All I have to go off right now is a little thing Ripped Laces wrote about them and I'm really interested in trying them out

Wearing the new Suciu shoe. They are near perfect in every way.

Have you skated in them yet?  I put a lousy hour on them last night and really noticed the asymmetric collar.  The insole is super nice too, just getting used to the overall shape of the forefoot/toe.  I've been skating the same shoe for the last 2 years but realized they were discontinuing it soon and figured I'd try something else.  It sounds weird but I feel like these promote good/natural posture if that makes any sense.

The Suciu is coming out in that colourway in Jan too!  ;D

^^Can either of you guys give specifics of how the Suciu actually fits? Snug, loose, slim to the foot, narrow, wide? How is the heel lock?

Kind of an apples oranges comparison, but compared to the Busenitz ADV which I was well acquainted with, there's definitely more room/length in the toe box, though not enough to warrant going down a size.  Through the middle of the foot, the fit is very secure/stable feeling without feeling like it's squishing your foot. The internal bootie works similar to tongue centering straps, but is probably 3 or 4 inches longer.  My feet feel pretty locked in but I want to break the insoles in more before commenting on heel lock.

My only gripe is the shape of the toe.  I'm sure it's just a matter of getting used to something different.  So far, so good.

Vans old skool pro's . So far I have skated them for a week and most of the abuse has been taken by the sole. I really like them and as a plus, I got propeller with the shoes  :) The laces were far too long for the shoe so I cut them and then burned them with a lighter and I also took of the red tag just because I didn't like the way it looked with the tag on. This isn't my pair but they look very simillar and the photo's I took were too large to upload.
