I'll probably pick up a pair of those dylan. slip ons to skate.  I haven't skated vulcs in a long time but I'm a sucker for his shoes.  I also loved the vulc Gravis versions so hoping these will be similar.

Sorry if this is old news, but has anyone skated the Gillettes in a serious enough manner to give feedback? I don't plan on buying a pair (to skate or wear), I'm just curious.

^^

Probably will skate the Figgy's first. Looks like a slimmer type Laced with an inner-sock liner. Too bad the insole was glued, was a bitch to take out and put my FP Gamechangers in there.

It's ok TOAST-FACE KILLA, I don't hate you.
thanks man, idk what i did, did i get in trouble for spam or some shit? maybe it's just the name, people see it and go "hey fuck that guy" , i post about the same quality shit as everyone else anyway. also on topic i don't get why they would glue a shitty insole in there, and is there a reason why they put thin insoles in cupsoles anyway? vulcs get nice ones but even if you get a $100 cupsole you still get the same crap, i don't get it.

Any idea what the fit like on the Figgys would be if I'm planning to skate them them as a slip on? Half size down maybe?

I told them to send me my true size (9). Fits good, fits even better with the insoles I have in them.

Didn't even bother to try them out with the crap glued insole.

Westgate CC is A great shoe.
Wish the suede was a little more durable.
They are what I would hope a slim cupsole would be, thinner footprint flat insole fits perfectly.
Hooked for sure.

they are def a little thinner than Reynolds. my buddy joked that Reynolds are an old man's shoe while Westgates are for younger guys whose feet can take a little more abuse. but yeah, pretty much everything you'd want in a narrow, low-top cupsole.

The Reynolds are pretty bulky, I did like them but both pairs I had the sole came off.

Yeah, true to size but I feel like there is a bit more room in the front of the shoe (more height and slightly more width) than the gravis vulcs. Anone else notice that under the insole there is a thin layer of squishy blue material, not unlike gravis' poron technology?

I own the Lo's with the thin outsole and the vulc version of the gravis pairs. for me the vulc slips were a half-size smaller compare to the huf version which is true to size. as far as heel lock, well it's not as tight but you just need to dig your heel's in-there a little bit and it starts to break in enough to fit well. The huf version also feel's thicker on the sole for some reason but maybe it's just the foxing around the shoe that makes it so because it's high, overall i like it. Just don't know how long the leather is gonna last since it's all soft compare to a leather that you have to break-in first.

Never been a fan of skating slip-ons in general but the dylan's didn't give me the feel of slip-ons where generally it feels flat on the toe and the shape feel's more like a shoe with laces it's just it doesn't have it on. If you've ever try to skate with slippers, they feel too bare with your feet entirely exposed. With the Dylan's, the shoe feel's like a normal vulc shoe with laces with the wearability of a slip on.

Awesome info, guys. I'm starting to get swayed into buying them.

man i was looking at the es accel slim in person yesterday and i really want to like them but i just can't, the front of the toe looks weird like a duck's bill and the ollie pad is in the middle/back of the shoe pretty much, even though the og accel has it in the front.middle, they made some weird design choices on the shoe.

Back when DVS and Lakai were on Podium.

I would get DVS tags on Lakai shoes and vice-versa. I thought wasn't a big deal, same factory.

As usual, dunk SB low served me well.

Time for a new shoe to semi-destroy.

Tate do you like the newer outsole as opposed to the old outsole?  If you skated dunks back then.  I can't skate the new ones at all.  Im hoping the Ishod dunks outsole is similar to the old sole instead of the newer one...

What is your problem with the new sole? It's way grippier and has better boardfeel than the original.
Is it because they are thinner and doesn't protect as much as the original one?
I like that balance, IMO they are still protective enough but way better boardfeel than the original.

To each his own I guess, but in this case you should try the Reynolds, they are really protective.

Trust huf to fuck up the slip on with their shitty materials.

It's not necessarily "shitty material". it's the stuff they pick. Tumbled leather is good "look wise", because you won't have to worry about creasing it if you care how the shoe looks. I would've preferred the burnished black leather from the first Huf Dylan. Tumbled leather is pretty much broken-in leather so there soft. It's taken a beating in a half hour due to a fresh sheet of grip tape from a new set up. that's prolly why it looks like it's been skated much longer. The sole is much better than the original, it might not be that poron material but it's some type of microbial insole that keeps your feet from swamping. I've worn this for almost a week and my feet don't sweat and I'm really suprised by that because there isn't any ventilation at all.

I wouldn't be surprise if this won't even last me a month. like I said, I only wanted try it out of curiousity. it's more than likely gonna be my go-to like a house slipper/chiller haha!

I've skated both, my first SB dunk I skated in was around 2003.

The newer ones are better, in my opinion. Better grip and tread pattern. Lasts longer.

Only bad about the new dunk shape is inside the heel area, the 2 padded pods in the back (which are supposed to help) kind of bother my heel area, takes some time to get used to it.

I have kind of given up on dunks. Great shoe but my last two pairs had shitty inflexible synthetic uppers. I need a shoe with little break in time and they needed too much work.

I've skated DCs for the past 5/6 pairs and feel that their materials are better than Nike at present. If you like the fit of dunks, I'd recommend the Lynx or Matt Miller's. I've got some Kalis up next and know they'll do the trick too. Good to have a strong shoes that need no break in.
