I don't know for sure, but I'm pretty sure Crail/lakai just got investors, Rick and Mike are at least part owners
They got investors in the form of a gigantic global investment firm, not a cool sk8r dude with some money. The company also owns health and auto insurance companies, other investment firms, and walk-in clinics among others. So yeah, put your money where it makes a difference! Give it to Altamont Capital Partners.
Still part skater owned/still money for rick and mike, still way better than nike.
and who took sales away from the true core brands so they were forced to take in investors to survive?
If you're going to excuse every corporate move by every company that isn't Nike, why not just say "Fuck Nike because I don't like them" instead of the shitty justification? I'm not sticking up for Nike or anything, it's just that your argument has been made so many times by so many people, and it's too weak to keep listening to.
maybe people would buy skater owned if they actually made good shoes. just sayin.
so what skater owned shoes did you skate to form your opinion?
mostly lakai/ fallen, emerica it seems they are the last skater owned now? never tried a fallen cupsole though. and some hufs. horrible, horrible quality. i mean is there seriously a question here? adidas and nike make shoes on another level.
yeah i feel like there is a question- for example fallen started off pretty good as far as i remember, holding up well but i got the feeling they(as other "skater owned" brands) started to get shittier quality over time and the n nike stepped in. since then it seems to me every brand has to regain a level of quality. i feel like lakai does great work, same goes for emerica. both brands got long lasting and/or innovative shoes-
(herman G6 and new lakai vulcs last more than great- even better than nike vulc wich seems the highest standard vulc to people around me.)
havenīt skated huf cause my main concern is how long the sole lasts on the bottom. here lake rules. cardboard aside, every pair was great. emetic cups never disappoint (me), but itīs kinda whatever floats your boat. it all depends on flick, how the shoe fits and what type you are looking for. sometimes the shoe that appeals to you the most is just not lasting for you, you know?
i hope itīs understandable because english is not my first language!
oh DC are lasting by the way.....got some EVAN SMITH- who asked before?
