Skating an old pair of these Vans Pacquards that I used to wear around back in the day. I would never let them touch my board back then because I was really into how they looked and didn't want to wear them down at all, but it turns out that they're one of the best shoes I've ever skated. Super comfy and the shape is great for kickflips. They last longer than I would expect too. Really regret not buying more while they were still around.

I dug these out of the closet after almost two years, I wish they were around longer. Such an underrated, comfortable shoe. Also, I wish I would have bought the black pair instead, but these are tight too, ha.

these were so awesome. been looking for a pair on eBay for a bit now... only saw 1 in the last year. crazy they had Vibram soles on them.

Yeah they are great, wearing them right now. they were kinda stiff at first, but once I started wearing them a little more, they broke in nicely, and now they feel great. If I had to point out a problem, I dont know if its just the floor at my office at work, but Im sliding all around the place over here. Just the office though.

If you're used to skating vulcs, you're gonna feel a big change, just warning you. Very durable and great impact protection though

Is the feeling similar to Leo's? I liked the sole of that shoe but I'm actually wanting something thicker.

Saw a couple of weeks ago a poster (who's name is escaping me) did some DIY altercations to a pair of shoes that stretched out.
Decided to give it a shot, albeit with a little less sophiscated technique and using some old vans insoles.

Niiice! Thanks for posting that, such a neat idea. Got to have a little skate with them early today it works  well, feels much more stable.
Could start to feel that it might irritate my heel a bit so, I'm putting a thinner insole in today!

Great! You could also turn the foam to the foot so its more soft to the heel.
I actually have more foam in foot that in the other since i have a longer left foot (human foot is not the same size). i like to modify my shoes to a have a better performance.  ;D

Best shoes I ever used, they lasted a lot, probably because I use to destroy the sole and not the rearfoot

Those are great shoes. The sole goes bald under your toes almost immediately but I didn't really notice it to have any real effect on the grip. I skated them for a log time.

You must have gotten an earlier pair, they revamped that sole awhile back, perfection now!

Decided to try a pair of high top cons, haven't messed with anything this high before, hopefully it doesn't mess me round.

Any of you guys jump from low tops to high tops, if so is there much of a restriction in ankle movement?

I don't find it to have an effect on my skating, feels the same. But then again The only high tops I've had was several pairs of sk8-his and some converse.

bought Supra Ellington Vulcs some time ago, those got me hooked on high tops. those slim ones dont restrict you at all, in my opinion.

I feel like it really depends on how you wear them ... when I have a rolled ankle I'll lace them up to the top and then there is more support/less flexibility but usually I only have them laced as far up as a low would be, which basically feels like a low but you don't have to worry about snakebite haha

Oh also just got these bad boys dropped off ... first impression is that they are way lighter and slightly narrower than the original.  The internal sock/booty/strap thing is rad though
