Oh also just got these bad boys dropped off ... first impression is that they are way lighter and slightly narrower than the original.  The internal sock/booty/strap thing is rad though

Woah they have an internal sock design in these? That's fucking awesome, I might need to get these eventually.

As a precursor, I had major surgery on my ankle/leg almost four years ago, and have suffered through a lot of issues with that leg. Choosing the correct shoe to adapt to my current condition has always been important for my health. At the times of least mobility, I was skating high top dunks/supra cupsoles to protect my sensitive leg. More recently, I've been receiving a radical form of PT thats pretty much blasted out a significant portion of the scar tissue from my injury/surgery. I have all this new range of motion, and have strengthened the muscles around the joints for superior support, and find myself able to move more naturally, akin to when I was younger. So I have transitioned away from brick like shoes, to a thinner, supported shoe which would accent my mobility.

I picked the blazer low gt's up at the local a couple week back. I wasn't planning on getting shoes that day, I was just trying on anything that looked decent while my buddies got some shoes themselves. When I got to these and slipped them on, they fit my foot like a glove. They have an internal sock design in this shoe, which I believes contributes heavily to the prime fit along with it's slim design. After skating it for a couple weeks, I'm very impressed how it's held up and performed. It's a very soft shoe, including the suede, so you get a lot of minut control with your foot movements, and it safely dances the threshold of being thin enough to feel the board, but cushion the foot. After about 3 weeks of skating it's developing a tiny hole in the ollie area, which I can easily shoe goo and never think about again. The grip is still going strong and the shoe has yet to go floppy. I never feel great about buying Nike, I'd prefer not to, but got damn I'll probably have to get these again. I'd be stupid to not get something that worked so well for me.

Between these and dunk SB's, I don't know why I try to skate other shoes.

The 533 is great!

Been wearing the Figgys a bunch, but scooped two pairs of these on my way home for under $20. Thanks to the dude who unloaded all sorts of goodies at the Buffalo Exchange in Long Beach. Wish I could have squeezed my feet into the Es Selsa and Sal samples. Just a pinch too small, bummed.

are the romeros wider than the figgys? and do they have more impact protection? i liked the figgys but they got a hole super fast and the sole didnt last very long either.

wouldnt call them wide as fuck, but they are some of the very few shoes with a silhouette like that that kinda fit my wide-ass feet.

They are wider. I wear a half size up in the figgys. The impact protection is about the same, neither has much in the way of padding. The soles are also very similar.

I haven't skated the rubber toe'd ones, but the original ones are better than Vans slip ons, in my opinion.

Just picked these beauties up:

You can't beat tonal suede with gum soles. And these shoes skate so amazingly...definitely gonna grab the black/gum and gray/gum too.

well, ISLE's Vase did its job and convinced me to take a brief pause from wearing my usual/reliable adidas/vans to try out the Griffin XLK

psyched to try em out.  the soles seem like they're gonna get nice and gummy/flexy with some cupsole support.

Wallies usually do the same to my laces, if you dab a little superglue to the lace it'll harden it up just enough to help prevent it from ripping
