found these indoor soccer shoes to skate for cheap, wasn't stocked first but now i think they'll be great, feels very durable

only real skate shoes option in my size in the area was some huf arena for 99 euros !!!

...and they're great, just put some old lunarlon insoles instead of the shitty ones, they feel like nike buzenitz and are actually durable

trying to find a quality vulc that is low to the ground and form-fitting to the foot.  can anyone give me some thoughts on the following shoes (bonus points for anyone who can also compare models to each other):

1. lakai griffin
2. lakai camby
3. lakai Vincent 1
4. vans era pro
5. vans Rowley solo
6. lakai Madison
7. that new Stevie Perez lakai
8. vans kyle walker

[close]
Lakai Griffin is good, lasts long and quality. It takes a minute to get used to the thin side wall, but it fits most feet and skates great.
[close]
Griffins are fuckin awseome, as are the Alvarez 1, but they havn't been produced in awhile...  I liked the Flaco as well, but laces ripped like wildfire, I'd stay away from the cambys and medisons though, their sole isn't as good, the camby usually have thinner suede and I'm pretty sure the madison only come in canvas.

I havn't skated anything but Lakai since the Griffin came out with their new sole, so anything with that and you're golden!
Is the FLACO even out yet? I'm picking that one up once it hits my local.

I'll back the Griffin. Great shoe. Thin but comfortable. Looks great on foot.

The camby was unwearable. Cut waaaaay below the ankle.

Vincent 1 was a tank. Really heavy shoe, stiff toe box. I like the way the Vincent 2 looks, and they're readily available.

Era pros bad out really quick. I've had a few pairs, all did the same thing.

I gave the homeless guy who digs through my dumpster 2 pairs of BAs. Fuck those shoes.

That leaves me stoked and mad at the same time, I'm conflicted!

Got the diamond Torey shoe for stupid cheap on prime day, typical vulc shoe with a removable insole.  Fits true to size, hoping they don't get floppy too quick.  I do like the minimal branding, but I would never pay full retail ($70) for these.

Cambys seem pretty narrow to me, but not the narrowest. They're very low profile, decent amount of point to the toes, and the in-step is a bit tight for my tastes. They look really good as chillers depending on colorway and are very stable, but probably wouldn't last very long skate-wise.

Art - I have nothing but good things to say about the Camby mid. It's called a 'mid' but isn't really a true mid. It hits about the same place as the old Lakai Marc, right under the part of your ankle that sticks out. Anyway, I had the grey canvas (below) and I was surprised by how well they held up. There is still a ton of life left in them. I've had suede shoes that burned through quicker than this canvas.

@IMP - Silas vulc is a great shoe after you get the sizing right. DEFINITELY go down .5 size to your normal size. Not sure what standard Adidas used to size these but the toe box is long and in your 'normal' size they will feel like water skis. The fit is narrow heel to toe and is low profile all the way around. Wide feet may not dig these. Sole isn't super grippy right out of the box but after you scuff it up and break it in, it's good to go. And, sized right to your foot the heel lock is great. Can't speak too much to the durability yet.
[close]

thanks for that mate! So wait, go .5 size down in Adidas (whose sizing is all over the shop anyway) or .5 size down to what I normally wear (I'm a 10 in vans for reference)? Good to know about the heel-lock too. Did you change out the stock insole, or keep it in there? How was/ is?
These days I feel like their insoles are pretty underwhelming...

Nah, go .5 down from your normal size shoe. (I am a 10 in everything and fit 9.5 in these perfectly.) I kept the stock insole. Definitely underwhelming by today's standards, they are really thin and feel more like rubber than they do foam, but I love them for the board feel.

Personally I didn't like my rowley solos because the insole was so thin I had to switch it out immediately. They're on the wide side of shoes and they were not stable. I also found them to be not very durable.

Will let you know if I end up getting a pair (not sure if I can justify another pair of shoes at the moment; I have like 3x as many pairs as the wife does).

Vans K Walks. 1st day out in them. Kept the insole stock. I typically always skate cupsole wanted to check out the wafflecup because I like the look of Vans, but Vulcs don't treat me too good. So far these are good. Really good :)

The shoe is super comfy. They skate well. My only gripe is the leather is a little too slick at first on flip tricks, but it works well once broken-in. The tall foxing really helps the durability on the toe. They're expensive for sure, and I don't even know that they're worth the price tag, but I like them.

hey there!

did not want to start a new thread for this: how does the lakai owen fit? a friend of mine skated it and they looked like they stretched out a lot over time, wich is my basic problem with the last few pairs of lakais i had....should i go down half size?

for reference i had the lakai mj with the long toe box, the new one in size 8 and should have gone down a half size cause i got bad heel slip after three sessions and basically stopped skating them because of it.

had the lakai camby in my true size US 8 but in canvas and the fit was fine. another guy i know had cambys in suede and told me his stretched out really bad.

any feedback would be highly appreciated, thank you!

1/2 size down they stretch a little. But it'll still feel snug.

UPDATE on the kyle walker shoes for the ones interested......had a 3-4 hour session in them yesterday!

i gotta say the insole is weird at first but once you skated it for a bit it lowers a little and gives you a nice stability. flick is fucking crazy good and the grip too. materials seem quality still. i usually get bald spots on the bottom of my sole really quick, but not with that shoe. the flex is really nice and reminds me of vans i had 10 years ago but with a decent insole!

A bargain, 25 euros each.
Had to do it after all the good things heard around here.
Really comfortable but not for skating. I can't skate in these kind of shoes.
Just for chilling and grocery shopping.

i can't stress how much i hated skated in these fucking shoes.  fuck them.

Really ? I've been reading positive reviews only. What do you hate in them ?
[close]

I hated mine too. I really wanted to like them but I just couldn't do it. There wasn't any aspect of the shoe that was working for me. It was a bummer.

sorry to leave you hanging.  been off the grid for a bit.

BA's sucked to me because they
A) weren't grippy
B) felt like platform shoes

the epitome of no boardfeel in my opinion.  love they way they look, but i'd never want to skate a pair.

I went a full size down on my one stars, but the toe on the one stars is pointier than the toe on the CTAS so you may want to consider going only .5 down because then your toes will be more comfortable.

Does anyone have sizing info on the lunar gatos? found some on eBay I'd like to try out but I'm unsure of what the correct size to order. Also, do the lunar gatos have good board feel? I haven't skated a cupsole in forever and I'm worried that I'm just going to hate them if I can't feel my skateboard underneath me.

They're one of the best shoes I've ever skated. Sizing wise true to size, I've only ever had a handful of Nikes in my life SB or otherwise and I've always found them quite narrow as I have wide feet and while snug they stretch out easy and didn't become sloppy. For a cup sole with the lunuron midsole they have surprisingly good board feel, nothing like a vulc but good, they take a while to bald but even when they do they're still grippy. Great toe box shape and flick but I'd suggest dropping some super glue on the detail stitching on the toe before skating in them. Fuck Nike blah blah blah but these were some of the best and I keep digging out an old pair for a session and I still have a fresh pair in the box for one day on the future.

I'm a 10 in every Nike shoe except the Lunar Gato. I got a 10 in those and they were so tight I had to get rid of them. Just my opinion but I'd go a half size up.
