Busenitz Pro's have the best flick on any skate shoe I ever had. That toe just does magic things to my ugly kickflips.

Thanks guys. I'm pretty stoked on them too. I wanted a pair of busenitz for at least a year. Cant wait for the matchcourts to die.

Found both of these at Botique Rollin in Montreal for like $60 each.

Jealous about those Isle Griffins.  Sucks Lakai won't be able to do more Isle collaborations any time soon.

Jealous of the Isle colorway too.  How do the Griffin XLK's skate?  Thinking about trying a pair.
All you got is today, get out and skate.

Nice. Can you post a pic of the skated Elgins? Also a mini review or something. I'm interested in knowing how they are and how they've held up.

How do the slip ons fit? If they fit nice and tight they would be a nice break from vans for my poor feet haha

They fit great nice and snug, same insole as all the other shoes so super comfy, they are a little wider mid foot than vans and the toe is more rounded

Alright Here goes. First day skating the shoe was Febuary 3rd. Last day i skated the shoe was march 25th.
I skate roughly 3 days a week for about 4-5 hours total each session.
Out of the box
I went .5 size up because i heard these were a bit narrow, the fit was great.
No break in time at all, had a brand new board as well and flip tricks were no probem.
Great board feel and flexability. Grip is on point.
Toe shape is great for kickflips. Probably one of the best flicking shoes i have ever had.

After skating them

Grip held up pretty well i even grind my feet into position for flip tricks.

Toe held up great, didnt even break through to the rubber under layer.

The two seams on the upper connecting to the toe box got a little freyed but no holes or anything.

I could honestly still skate these, they are nice and floppy broken in feeling.
Im just ready to get back into some mid tops.

Thanks Moe. Great review and they seem like a great shoe. I'm definitely gonna try to get the green ones. The condition yours are in right would be the condition I usually really start liking the shoes I'm skating. I absolutely love properly broken in shoes. Glad to see they've held up nicely.

Shouldn't States be of a similar quality to gravis/habitat, given that the same factory makes them?

Yes and no. I don't know about that specific factory but generally suppliers and factories/manufacturing are totally separate. A company buys raw materials from A and has them shipped to B for manufacturing. Just as an example Gravis might buy some grade A kobe beef leather* while State buys the skins of only the sickest cows, but they get sewn together by the same kids.

* I don't know if that's a thing and it's just an example not a knock against State.

Black and gum Boozys, foot felt like it was slipping out at first coming from the superstars, but they are skating fine now. Burning through them pretty quick with this kickflip a day thing tho.

Does anyone have the State Salem and another thin silhouette high top (huf classic hi, sk8-hi, converse, etc)? If you do could you take a pic of them side by side? I kind of want to try the Salem but from the pictures I'm seeing it looks a bit closer to a mid than a high

Just got these for $20. Eras always skate so good. Threw in the ultracush insoles from my Rowleys and they are so nice.

And while the leather is a little slippery, I like that after my first session they are still somewhat stiff. Usually eras brake in in the first 30 seconds lol.
