Converse CONS CTAS Lows with CX insole. Canvas construction with suede ollie patch.

I was hesitant to get these but succumbed to nostalgia. They're holding up great so far and the insole is actually pretty good. Miles ahead of Zoom Air, but not as good as Lunarlon. Impact protection isn't all there, but there's some arch support and my lower back isn't in pain like it was with Zoom Air.

I have a set of FP Gamechangers coming, gonna replace the CX insole with them and hopefully they'll address CX's shortcomings.

They are vulcs but Rowans have been treating my feet better than alot of cups out there, Ave's included. They also last forever for me. Upper and soles are still solid after a month and a half.

If you have truly sworn off vulcs, my buddy swears by the Tyshawns. He has also been having foot troubles so I take that as a good recommendation.

What is the nose and tail length on the B&C board? How steep are the kicks?

Nose: 6.75"
Tail: 6.18"

I haven't had the chance to skate it yet, but both kicks are mellow as fuck. Concave is pretty flat too.

Also they measure the length by bending the ruler to the board's shape, so if you measure boards from tail to nose without bending the ruler, it's 31.25"

thats a huge tip. was looking into their 8.75 at 32" length but if its really gonna be 31.5 long, easy pass.

Yeah after I received it and measured it, I was kinda scared that a whole 0.50" was going to fuck with my skating since I'm used to FA/Hockey's 31.75"

Skated it today and it's probably one of the best shapes I've ridden. I'm a smaller person, and the mellow kicks and flat concave combined with a shorter length and Ventures just made everything click. I could land things way easier where I usually had to warm up to do. Ollies and related tricks are way easier to bone out and pop shuvs are super easy to rotate.

Only shortcoming I can really thing of is the pop isn't as heavy as I'd like it to be since I'm used to that, but I'd say it's overlooked by the actual performance of the board.

Mellow kicks and flat concave also has me worried the board may break easier, but I think that's just in my head. Time will tell.

^thanks for throwing that info on there. Might have to try one out, i prefer a mellower concave as well and the shape sounds like it would be to my liking. Plus i'm an MJ fan so i'd be hyped to skate one of his company's boards

When I hear him speak, and he describes a situation, I tend to think that’s not how it went down.
I agree with you on the Lakai leaving, and the Dashawn commercial, but....I liked the matchcourt commercial.
I like the name and shapes of his boards. The early ‘pookie’ graphics were bad, some of the other stuff is cool enough tho.
His skating is/was great. Should have never done an interview

I say this all the time, but I LOVE the Tyshawn's.  I hope they keep them around for awhile :'( Love the midsole and having a bit more ankle support, though the ankle isn't high enough to protect you from axle's to the inside ball of your ankle.

I didn't mention the Tyshawns because someone else had already brought them up, but I'll vouch for them as good shoes as well. Not the best for me because I wear orthotics, and the sole is a little too narrow for them to fit in there. But it seems to be a well designed, well made shoe. I love that they used a firm/thick rubber for the outsole - hate when new shoes already feel floppy/thin.

i am a broken record about this, but tyshawns are the fucking truth!

i got like 6 sessions with my pair now and the are hella suppertive, still have great boardfeel and seem to last me a while. i am not extra heavy on my shoes flick wise, but the suede is still unbothered

Vans Style 36 Pro



Tongue centering loop is way down on the tongue. It's not so weird after lacing them up, but it's still kinda odd.



Some enhanced durability stuff on the inside. I'm pretty sure this is a new-ish thing for vans. It feels like shit on slipons but it's not really noticeable on these, thankfully. It does not run around the toecap. It's just under the stitching part on the side of the shoe.

The underside of the tongue is nice n soft. I think oldskool pros are usually just rough canvas. This tongue might be a little longer too.

These fit the same as other vans pros. I've had the same size in eras, slipons, authentics, oldskools, and sk8 his. They all fit pretty much the same, except sk8 hi were a little bit roomy but not enough to get a different size.

First time stepping on PopCush. Feels like UltraCush but a little more rubbery/bouncy and less plasticy. So far so good.

Made in China, hopefully by people who were paid for their labor, but I'm still doing my homework on that issue.

Was alternating between half cabs and old skools and they have been fucking my feet up drastically recently; just so much soreness of my feet after the sesh. Never really had this issue before until recently. I love how they skate but I think I’ve finally reached that age where I can’t really fuck with thin vulcs anymore, so I decided to start wearing these again. Got these a while ago, ended up throwing em aside but I think imma finally start skating em. Got FP insoles in there too.
