Do the AVE's have better board feel than the Crockett Hi? I've got the Crockett and they're super comfy, but the board feel isn't what I'd like. I need something with some support, but I usually skate Blazers and Bruins.

Yes I have aves and Crockett high, crocketts are more cushioned but Ave have way more board feel IMO. You need to shoe goo the mesh near the front ASAP or it’ll rip in 45 min, that’s only design flaw I see. The bottom rubber grip lasts twice as long for me vs the standard vans waffle as well. My last pair lasted 2 months.

Wearing the Chicago alley oops and I’m super disappointed because they look semi dunkish, so I assumed they’d be similarly comfortable when I ordered em online. Maybe they just need to break in but they’re super unsupportive.
[close]

@No comply With the older sb dunks, right before they made Ishod dunks so maybe 2015, I would take out the insoles and microwave the shoes to help soften the sole. Maybe that would work for alley oops too?
good looks man, I’ll have to try. I had lots of dunks back before they were super popular (2012 and before) and they were always comfy out the gate , but it’s worth a shot.

Finally got my pair of Tyshawns that I ordered from the Adidas sale. I gotta admit, I’m pretty disappointed by them. I didn’t expect them to be so soft, judging by pictures I thought they would be firm and hard like the Busenitz shoes. I can’t skate soft shoes because my feet get sore super quick. I just skates in them for 10 minutes and my feet feel like I was skating a full length sesh. I like a nice hard cupsole shoe like a Marana or Busenitz, and the Tyshawns to me feel like broken in Vans. They do look dope as hell and I’ll just relegate these to casual shoes.

Weird I love mine. It’s like broken in vans with cushioning. Or a blazer with pillows in it

AVEs feel more cushioned to me in the sole, but a solid amount of board feel. I think the Crocketts are more cushioned in the upper but less cushion in the sole and similar board feel to the AVEs, maybe slightly more.

Converse Chuck 70

I mainly skate cups these days on account of bum right foot but these things are super comfy and I am tempted to get a session in with them soon.

Not wearing the Tom Knox Black NB 440s but want to be. I feel like I slept when they came out and now I'm struggling to find a size 9. Anybody know where I can find some online, preferably from a skate shop's website?

Edit: Found some... hopefully still available in 2 weeks when I get paid

Haven’t personally skated the 2’s but people I know have said it’s exactly the same “sauna” feeling

The sole is like rigid plastic at first, but after a few days they softened up and now flex like a glove. Upper is possibly overventilated but thick around the toe and heel. The mesh is thick and black enough to hide bright socks.

Was contemplating buying this exact cw instead of a second pair of Crockett highs and now that I'm seeing these not in a promo shot I'm having second thoughts about my purchase haha. I really like the leather? wrap on the toe and heel. But  they seem more made for summer than winter with that mesh.

They look nice in person, but I didn’t want to risk the price on them not breaking in more than the Crockett hi, which are too stiff compared to the floppy bruins i prefer.

about 3 weeks in, 3-4 sessions a week, 2-4 hours per session.

note that the nylon is indeed not ripped, yet the leather is starting to wear faster than the nylon (curious!)

only drawback is that the leather parts feel pretty stiff.  still not sure if i prefer cupsoles or vulk, and i keep bouncing back and forth between the two.

anyway, not bad for 30 bucks on clearance.

I got the chuck 70 suede shoe and I love them. They are 10x more comfortable than a regular pair of chucks and hold up quiet well for skating (the suede pair at least). Been regularly checking different places to find another pair on sale
