The old skools are just a simple Vans vulc shoe. The pro classics all got updated and the naming convention has changed. so in this case, if you want the skate model, it would be listed as the Vans Skate Old Skool (https://shredzshop.com/blogs/news/new-vans-skate-classics-shoes-2021)

If I were to skate a Vans vulc shoe, my preferences would be either the half cabs or Rowan's pro model. Those would hold up better and honestly I think they look better than old skools

I liked my Skate Old Skools. Currently breaking in a second pair.

I have a pair of Rowans I've been trying to get through but the back collar is seriously destroying my achilles. I skated them for a couple hours yesterday and was literally limping by the end of the session. Also idk if the eyelets sit weird or I just flick weird but this week alone I've already blown two laces, and both of them were from the TOP of the shoe where I tie them. Very weird and frustrating problem. I dunno if they changed the Rowans cuz I had a pair when they initially launched and quite liked them, but these new ones might be unskateable to me.

Grabbed myself some red Atlantics.
I just have to skate Lakais when ever I set up a Crail board.
It just feels right.

The Atlantics are nice.  What crail shape did you set up?  (And what trucks is it on?)

Been toying with the idea of going back to a 8.25 for a minute.
So I set up this Girl Griffin Gass. It’s 8.25 but tapers down to 8 at the tail. Pretty interesting shape. It’s pretty mellow compared to the DLX #1 stamped boards I prefer.

Same stuff as last one
Venture Throws
Sml wheels
Quantum Atoms
Jessup ultra
Bender Allen
We’ll see how she flips…

Very interesting

What catalog number is the shape?

It pair well with the ventures?

GO27 shape
Seems ok with the Ventures, I’ll give it a go in a few days.

How has Crail wood been lately?  Haven't skated any in 12 years after breaking 2 boards in 2 weeks and not being a big board breaker.  Love some of their shapes.

I’ve only set up a couple within the last year or so. I haven’t had any issues other than them being a little to flat for my liking. I also probably not the guy to ask. I just skate ledges, flat and little quarter pipes….like twice a week..so any board lasts me a while.

Yeah the fit is feeling better the more I wear/skate the 808. Today had my second session 2 hrs and they felt better and less tight than the first session (3 hrs) for sure. Honestly I’m kinda amazed I’m skating really good (for my standards) in them and have unlocked a few old tricks that got away. I’m very hyped.

This might almost seem like a very common / repeat occurrence, but from seeing a couple of people with the black / white basics with black laces, it brought out a new wave of madness, so I changed over some other shoes to now have black laces too.

Couldn't help myself, you could say.

I love new authentics with fresh white laces, but once they start to get grungy I love swapping to black. Black laces with the white accents and eyelets is just *chefs kiss*

Glad you copped! They are way more comfortable than most. I definitely LOL’d at the comparison.

I've skated more shell toes than any other shoe. Best shoe to flick with once you get used to it.

skating the sam narvaez pro model colorway right now!

Never been big on toecaps but these work quite good so far and my flick is on point pretty quick with these- wish they kept them in the regular line up

I skated in my pretty beat old t-19 dunk hi's the other day and had a similar thought. They feel all floppy and thin compared to my Tiagos. Grateful for the Tiago's because my body is so broken.

These are actually the non-skate ones, with the only real difference I can discern being the puffy tongue. I have/had a pair of the vulc Tyshawn ones a few years back, skated good and actually preferred the thin tongue on them. But the price difference just isn't worth the thin tongue justification for me, I can get original pro models for like $20 on eBay all day.

And yeah, brown cords have never gone out of the rotation during my tenure on Slap, just classic.

Grabbed a pair of 990v3s, these are by far the lightest and comfiest shoes I've ever owned.

Love the colorways they've been putting out on them too! Teddy Santis is doing everything right with the made in USA line.
