I'm trying to make my way into it.  I had a TRV900 Baby Death that I've sold to save up for a DVX100 setup.  Mainly going with the DVX since I'm going to college next fall for digital filmmaking.

I have a 2100 with a mk1. I'm lucky enough to gave the original mk1 that was made for the 2000/2100 for like a week, not a modified one.

well, i'm new to this business, but i would apreciate ifyou could post some stuff you filmed/edited.  i filmed maybe 20 skateboard tricks over the past 10 years, but had about 10 hours interview and additional footage since december. videography is fun, even if i'm more into taking picture.

I have a VX and a MK1.  I've filmed 3 vids with it and I had to have the heads and mic and viewfinder replaced.  I should be able to make it through one more video with it.

How do you like the DVX and you have any advice in looking for a good used one?

So is this just an elitist "skateboard filmer" thread or an "open to filming all sorts of beauty" thread?

I have plenty to share if it's the latter

knowing the general population most skateboarders/filmers can be snobs about cameras.
I had an idea about hitting up thrift stores for weird old cameras and making a video with them.
I see so many at the ones around here, from og full size channel 9 ones to decent hi 8/vhs c.

My buddy jake had a vx2100 with a modded mk1 that was so damn wide he'd practically be riding piggyback just to be close enough.
It got jacked last year and he finally bought a brand spankin new 2100 but he had to use his old mk2, i can tell he's struggling to get used to it, hard to gauge how close to be now since he was so used to his old lens.

Maybe somebody here can answer a question I've been reluctant to sign up for Skate Perception to ask.  Do you have to use the death lens that's marketed specifically for a DVX for a DVX, or can you get a VX one on there?  The DVX one is harder to find and more expensive.
