i've noticed lately that describing something as "sick" has gotten out of control.  i was buying a christmas present for my girlfriend at some store and i heard a little 10 year old girl go "mommy, this sweater is siiick".  that's just one instance...every day i hear people young and old abusing it.  saying "sick" in skateboarding is like our n-word, but with a positive connotation.  that same thing happened to "radical" in the 80's.  monsters!

Last night my step-dad's kids stayed over the house.  I don't mind the two younger ones but the oldest is a 31 year old heroin addict with no job, nowhere to stay and a bad attitude to boot.  I went out last night to avoid all the nonsense of having to deal with him, but when I woke up this morning he said to me "yo man I saw the weed you had in your grinder, that's some pretty sick shit."

I've started hearing hipsters say "gnar", and that one really upsets me, because I always assumed you had to hurt yourself really bad while skating at least once before you were allowed to say it.

and not nearly as rough as the above, but i unexpectedly ran into phil bonasso, a leader of a cult who really fucked over and hurt a bunch of my friends and family. i went to watch avatar but the shit was sold out and when i turned around in disappointment he was standing right there smiling like an idiot. i wanted to knock the dude out but he was there with his kids, fuckin ruined what was left of my holidays for sure.
