poocrusher already posted my local shop, so i will post another. it's a skateshop/skatepark in vermont. it's owned by two people that actually skate, they built the ramps themselves, they build ramps for public parks all across the northeast, and they hook up a lot of people. the skateshop is just as big as the park and they offer discounts and free sessions. everytime we have gone up they have hooked us up with a place to stay and either showed us around the city, or had someone else show us around the city

Fa skates in Arlington Heights, IL. www.faskates.com
They started in the 80's and went through the era when owning a skateshop was a guaranteed money-loser. They started off in a small corner in a tennis shop and have since moved into a larger building around the corner. Whether money is in it or not, these guys are legit and always will be.

Uprise skateshop in Chicago, IL.www.upriseskateshop.com If you are in Chicago, go here. Rad shop, rad employees. They gave me a discount one time when I went in recently because I immediately was able to identify and get hyped off of the menace section in 20 shot.

DLXSF- not sure what the shop URL is, but if you are in SF, this is the place to go. This dude Matt who works there is the best skateshop employee ever and is also the ultimate skate nerd (which is a good thing). Go in there on a random day and he'll be in there watching an old 80's vert contest video and explaining all the different foot plants they are doing to whoever. Not to mention, all deluxe and other SF brands are sold for super cheap ($40 decks).

Mission skateshop- don't know the website but its on 24th st. and treat in SF. I bought a set of wheels there recently and it came with a free beer. enough said.

Yep. In Sf on market street a block or two west of octavia. Used to be one in San Mateo too. They closed down, now there is Atlas skateshop there, which also deserves recognition for being rad.

Come to gastonia sometime, if you feel like wasting a entire day to watch tweakers and meth heads walking around.
Allen(the owner) built a little park inside the skate shop, it's pretty cool. Not as much stuff as Blacksheep though. But ever since Micah McSwain started working there, it seems like they got a lot more DLX, Es, Roughneck and other San Fransisco stuff.
The answer is Dutch Masters, you fat fucking catastrophe.

35th South (Tacoma)
http://www.35thavenue.com/
35th North (Seattle)
http://www.35thnorth.com/
Goods (Seattle)
http://www.needgoods.com/

The 35th Ave south shop is ran by Riding Walls, don't get much more legit than that! The north shop is ran by a dude named Tony who's hella cool. I've only been in there a few times, but they're rad, and they've got a crazy good team of nothing but the nicest dudes.

Goods is ran by Steve Gonzales, he's rad, and I believe Yeah Dude! works there and rides for them.

I'm sure there's tons of other real cool skater-owned shops that don't have the word "snow" in the name, but I haven't really ventured into many other shops than 35th South in the longest time.

But yeah, if there's something rad going on locally, these are the three definate shops you'd see on the flyer.
I rarely venture into classic slap and the one time I do it I find a guy getting his dick eaten by a dolphin.

www.vuskateboardshop.com

Haven't opened yet, but almost there.  Checked out the shop today and its just about done, just have to finish the mini ramp and some other stuff.  Everyones been working their asses off trying to get everything done. Gary has been pulling like 15 hour days painting, putting up drywall, everything.  Him and everyone else at Vu are definitely 100% committed and I hope everything works out with the shop. I know I have posted two topics about the shop already, my bad.
