Fa skates in Arlington Heights, IL.
www.faskates.comThey started in the 80's and went through the era when owning a skateshop was a guaranteed money-loser. They started off in a small corner in a tennis shop and have since moved into a larger building around the corner. Whether money is in it or not, these guys are legit and always will be.
Uprise skateshop in Chicago, IL.
www.upriseskateshop.com If you are in Chicago, go here. Rad shop, rad employees. They gave me a discount one time when I went in recently because I immediately was able to identify and get hyped off of the menace section in 20 shot.
DLXSF- not sure what the shop URL is, but if you are in SF, this is the place to go. This dude Matt who works there is the best skateshop employee ever and is also the ultimate skate nerd (which is a good thing). Go in there on a random day and he'll be in there watching an old 80's vert contest video and explaining all the different foot plants they are doing to whoever. Not to mention, all deluxe and other SF brands are sold for super cheap ($40 decks).
Mission skateshop- don't know the website but its on 24th st. and treat in SF. I bought a set of wheels there recently and it came with a free beer. enough said.
