poocrusher already posted my local shop, so i will post another. it's a skateshop/skatepark in vermont. it's owned by two people that actually skate, they built the ramps themselves, they build ramps for public parks all across the northeast, and they hook up a lot of people. the skateshop is just as big as the park and they offer discounts and free sessions. everytime we have gone up they have hooked us up with a place to stay and either showed us around the city, or had someone else show us around the city

Yeah talents definitely a sick place, does Hannah still work there, I never see her there anymore

they dont have a web site.

http://www.myspace.com/platformskateshop

they treat me good even though my ass never has money now-a-days to buy shit. i stop in once a month maybe. they carry everything i need so i cant complain. that and poker night is/was pretty righteous.

This thread is dedicated to small skateshops acoss the world that give endlessly to skateboarding.

Visit these shops cause they're fucking awesome...or at least check out their websites.
These links were quoted from later in this thread.

New Huf store in L.A. just opened.

Non-skateable benches and no griptape area. The skateshop of the future?

No Comply Skateshop (Austin, TX)
http://nocomplyskate.com/

Collective Skateshop (Ft. Worth, TX)
http://www.collectiveboardshop.com/

I fully back both of these shops. No Comply hosts lots of events around the Austin area and the owners are just down to earth. The owners of Collective are the same people that run the www.fourduos.com website to promote Texas skateboarding.

i think poocrusher owns meta? or at least is involved with it

Yeah, I just didn't want to list it at first.  I didn't want to start a thread to hype my own shop.

But, the list is starting to look awesome.  There are so many independent shops out there, and every bit of exposure will help.

Sunday in Buffalo, NY:
Great people, decent prices, well stocked, and always down to contribute to the local scene.  There was seriously no scene in Buffalo before they opened up 3.5 years ago, and they hit the ground running.  Set up a team, made two videos and helped Jake Donnelly get hooked up and enter OIAM.

i must say, i liked meta a lot the few times i went down there. it was a much better atmosphere than the shop i went to that was in the same place as a p.f chang's and benihanna's(i don't know the name of the shop or what town it was in). it was a skateboarders skateshop down to the last corner. i also liked your reasoning abut why you support the companies you support, and don't support the companies you don't support

her and her husband actually own talent. they just had another baby, so i'm pretty sure that most of their time has been going into taking care of her

Only decent shop around my area that carries only skateboarding stuff, no surf, no snowboards. They organize all the movie premiers here and they are really helpful and friendly.

HOMEBASE SKATESHOP IN BETHELEHEM PA.

www.homebase610.com

If you're from around here, and you're not buying your stuff there, then your parents should have thrown you in a dumpster when you were a newborn.

I definitely back that shop. Andy Po is good people.

Just wanna say thank you to the folks at KCDC for putting up with one of the most insufferable questions shops deal with these days and checking on the wheelbase of a deck I'm interested in. Never been there, never bought anything online, yet within 12 hours they respond to my message (an Instagram dm, for God's sake) with photos of the measurement. It means a lot, and I'll be buying the deck!

Also while I'm here, I wanna give appreciation to the dudes at Premier in GR, Michigan. You guys are the best.

if any of you guys ever visit the beautiful city of gdynia in poland look up śledź shop, it’s the only real skateshop in the area. the website (sledzshop.pl) should be up soon. i work there from monday to friday. gdynia is a relatively cheap place to visit if you live anywhere west of poland and it’s great in the summer so if you’re ever in the area hit me up, i’ll grip your board and we can go skate after 7pm when i get off work :)
