Just watched a yt video about aspect ratios about how he thinks everyone (non skaters too) should go back to 4:3 and pointed out how natively the iphone's sensor records in 4:3 but software crops it to 16:9 for no reason? Anyway, if you change the aspect ratio 4:3 when taking a photo you'll notice you gain a significant about of the frame as it uncrops the image. Pair this with holding the shutter button to start a video, you can now record 4:3 on iphone and actually utilize the entire sensor in the phone.
Not sure if anyone has thought about this or actively records clips like this but I think I'm gonna switch to this method of iphone clips
