3 months? 6 months? wtf man I burn through a pair of shoes in 3 weeks if I’m skating 4x a week. What grip tape do you guys use? Is jessup the secret to shoe longevity? I’ve been happily paying extra for pepper but now you guys have me questioning wtf I’m doing wrong.

Or am I not crazy and the long shoe keepers are transition/slappy guys? I do a lot of ollies and kickflips.

I skate mostly transition, so my shoes last a while as long as I’m not doing knee slides. I also ride my shoes until they are completely trashed, either no tread left or holes big enough that my socks contact my grip tape. I can afford new shoes, I just choose to get the most out of them so I’m consuming less

Man I wish I could become a transition guy. Looks so relaxing and cool and even your gear lasts longer. It’s hard in these streets.

Prob skate about 4 to 8 hours a week.

Skate various numeric Vulcs, 440s and Half cabs and prob get 4 months out of a pair of shoes. I don't skate them until they are completely trashed anymore, as I like to pass them on to a youth shelter while they still have some life in them.

I skate cupsole shoes with suede uppers, model and brand varies depending on what’s available and what I’m in the mood for. I get out skating 1-3 days a week for a 2-4 hour session. I probably get 2-4 months out of my shoes. I usually remove my aftermarket insoles and replace the originals/leave em at a park for a kid to take because I don’t fully blow them out in that time, they just lose the support that my aging bones need to keep going

I skate 3-4x a week usually for 2-2.5hrs mostly curbs, small ledges, manual pads, carving around a park.

Right now I get 6 weeks out of a pair, up to 8. Depends how much I'm skating lower things and how much flat I do. I'll skate them until the soles are bald.

Some trash Burlington Fila club C clones have lasted me like 30-40 session of about an hour or 2 mixed park and streets so can't complain for like 9 bucks. They're shredded up top but the pre skate shoe goo has extended their life and the soles which I normally cook because of my constant scooching are still grippy as heck

Currently on my second pair of Jah 3’s. Bought one pair really cheap to try out and they lasted about 4 months when I eventually blew through the kickflip patch. Skate anything from 2-4 times a week at roughly an hour a session. Blazers kid’s typically last me 2 months but do feel great the whole time but again it’s either kickflip or heel flips that kill them off.

I skate 2-3 times a week for 1 to 2 hours. Small transitions, curbs, ledges, manual pads mainly. Flatground of course too, but not as much as I used to. Skate Half Cabs. A pair usually lasts me 3 months.

I'd say my shoes usually last 3-4 months. I only skate one shoe at a time and always cupsoles. I skate 1-3 times a week for at least an hour each time, but usually closer to 2-3 hours a session. I don't have a huge bag of flip tricks which helps them last longer. I usually skate my shoes until the soles are starting to wear a hole in them, but sometimes I'll retire them sooner.

About a month and a half... I get hardcore wear by my pinky toe, which happens to be right at the seam where the toe cap gets folded over... I superglue to delay wear, but as soon as that area is worn out I loose lateral support for my foot, and have to go to a new pair, or risk rolling my ankle badly.  For reference I am 48, old as dirt, and have bad ankles and knees...

What shoes do you wear?

I’ve been bouncing around a bunch of different vulc shoes for a while, but I tend to always throw in an old skool after I’ve tried a couple of other pairs

Maybe 6ish hours a week

How long do they last you?

On average about 2 months, sometimes 1.5. I try to skate them until the sidewall tears. Once it does it’s sort of a definitive way of knowing the shoe is done. The sole just completely separates from the shoe messing up your flick and you can even step on a folded over sole during certain sticks. This is mainly for vans. My blazer lows got to like 2.5 months without ever fully dying but they just turned into mush, and last resorts last maybe 2 weeks before the sole is ice

40 hours/month
2-4 weeks depending on whether I use super glue and/or shoe goo.
I can keep patching up holes on the uppers, but I eventually get a hole on each outsole, where the insole eventually makes contact with the grip. That's when I toss them.
