As I promised a few months ago here is my tutorial on how to deinterlace & upscale pretty much any MiniDV (or analogue) video for free using the programme Hybrid/Vaporsynth.

If any of you have any questions feel free to let me know and I'll try my best to help!

Thanks fella, I'm in the same boat as you to a degree. I cringe looking back at my older videos because of how badly the export settings were or just how poorly my in camera settings were. We live and we learn I suppose!

This is amazing. Great walkthrough. I made a full length in 2009 but the original AVI file corrupted, so now the only version of it I have is a rip from the DVD I made. Just ran that through this and now have a version that's as good as the original again!

I did the same with another vid I made (which I do have the AVI file for) and it looks great, but a lot is quite strongly over saturated. That also happened with some test clips I did first. Any ideas what's happening to cause that?

Firstly I'm so glad to hear this has helped! Secondly I'm unsure why it's boosting your saturation. I haven't experience this problem. I have had bugs before with an odd glitched frame but simply redoing the clip sorted this out. Have you ran the clips through Hybrid again to see if the same saturation issue is repeated?
