R.I.P. PS Stix
« on: July 15, 2025, 02:07:44 PM »
PS Stix will be closing production end of this week.

Ps Stix equipment is being bought by by a place just opening now up called OK Skate Manufacturing

And

OK SK8 will be producing all current left over orders  from PS Stix summer orders and as of the workers are moving to OK skate as well

Idk where Paul is going yet ?

Julio De La Cruz  .. is taking over Paul's spot .

R.I.P.   PS STIX

Wild to hear

Skateboarding is dying

  More and more each day

I hope this is just him moving on and enjoying retirement life.

End of an era.

Nice to see the manufacturing continuing. "Ok skateboards", lol, hopefully an undersell and overdeliver type marketing strategy.

I guess just where the person posted it.

Maybe @Alan could move it to Shoes and Gear to get a little more interest or where ever it would be more relevant?

That’s my hope. I know quality has been slipping (I don’t really skate PS wood) but I think it’s just covid and Paul getting older. As long as he’s happy with this then I’m happy. He’s an absolute legend and deserves to be recognized as such.

Seeing Julio De La Cruz bought his stuff and factory and is taking over (granted under his own name) makes me think it’s a passing of the torch.

Not that I don't trust the average Slapper to deliver us the hard, honest truth, but does anyone have an external link to a story or post about this?

Paul had a big sell off of equipment and boards at his old shop in Costa Mesa a few weeks ago. I figured it was just to get rid of stuff collecting dust

Oksk8 is based out of Rosarito, PS Stix were based out of Rosarito, and Julio De La Cruz mentioned in his 9 club that he helped Paul move into a smaller facility there

Julio has the experience it seems. Its funny I always thought he was a really rad skater, I randomly had Logic and Big Brother issues he appeared in. Would have never pictured him to be a woodshop nerd at that time cause he was hella fresh looking on the board. Also him being Mexican I think kinda helps overseeing production.

I have heard that there is a lot of gangster / criminal activity in mexico, and chances are you will have to pay off some sort of cartel a cut to protect you etc. With that massive risk, is it still worth it to do business in Meixco? i think history shows the answer is yes. my best guess is they just have liek kind of "higher security" type compounds for industrial areas where its not worth it for them to get in (probably no money is transacted at these locations or anything either... so maybe not worth it either)

Ive had a 3,400 dollar order placed w ps stix since april
Paid half for  the deposit and since then have been ghosted and stung along since then. It got to the point where i knew they werent answering my calls on purpose .
I ended up getting ahold of them thru another phone just to hear directly that this is true. The operation is switching without being told to everyone upfront. I know how skateboarding goes so i understand bit the lack of communication is frustrating.Kinda confused how to proceed. Everytime is so hard to get ahold of anyone and when i do they just tell me ill get a call back (i never have) Unfortunately were not the only one this is happening to so i would appreciate any advice<3

I had a WKND board where the truck holes were drilled incorrectly, which is bizarre because they one would assume that decks were drilled by a fixed jig.
