She’s a public figure who’s being paid to travel and play around on her wooden toy, essentially to entertain the masses and promote the sale of products she wears. What she does (that is put out there in the world publicly) is open to scrutiny and interpretation.

She to me, and her trick to me.. as lame as it is isn’t even the draw to this thread to me. The callback for me is watching the predictable members of these boards fall all over themselves trying to pretend this was cool, or that they’re fans of the trick. Everytime we have one of these situations I could drop a list of names of “who’s gonna fall in line”, and I’d be 10/10 in my guesstimate. Predictable and hilarious.

Because yes, as the privileged gender we need to make some room. I too am not interested in a race to the bottom that sometimes female skateboarding can be but there are nuances between Beatrice/Maite and Momiji/Marina.

By showing the sillyness, fun (ESPECIALLY ON A FUCKING TOUR) and yet technical prowess, it's overall more entertaining and efficient in the grand scheme of things.

I don't think Breanna looks good on a skateboard but she's in the streets and this clip and spot are fine.

I panic more when i see Cata Diaz pushing on flatground or surfsterre very own "but I like fashion" sexualization

Breana’s trick is on its own isn’t as much of an issue as it is a symptom of the Burnettification of Thrasher. Thrasher always had an air of stale beer fart about it, but Burnett just made it worse by realizing his vision as an industry cling on.

Are we looking at the same picture? Can you even perform a 50/50 grind, you sad, sad creature? When your arms are balancing for a 50/50 do you think they are held out perfectly parallel to your torso?  Her arms are up high because she doesn't want to clip the 3 pipes with her hands. She's definitely close enough for that to happen.

Amongst the barrage of incredibly foul and misogynistic comments on the IG post, one girl skater left a sincere comment that I think should make anyone with half a brain understand why this clip was given a spotlight. Some washed up skatepark hero with a slap account that nobody gives a fuck about isn’t inspiring young girls to start or continue skating. Breana is.
