Uploading 480i to youtube with a high bitrate
« on: November 19, 2025, 08:15:40 PM »
Looking for some advice here, has anyone uploaded 480i footage to youtube and have recommendations on how to maintain as much of the original quality as possible? Hardbody OD video for example is available in 720 60fps.

Reason for asking is the extremely low bitrate YT puts on lower resolution videos

Thanks yall

Upload 4k/30fps (or 60 if you like it), it's the only way to "unlock" YouTube's higher bitrate. If you export at 480 with a high bitrate YouTube will still compress the fuck out of your video.

I tried that but taking my timeline and exporting at a higher res makes it look fuzzy because it's not natively a higher resolution, any idea on avoiding that?
