I don't think he was on drugs. If I remember correctly, he was the passenger in a car being driven by a drunk person who crashed the car.

Pretty sad that he was too trusting or not taking the situation seriously enough, and it wasn't his "fault" per se.

I am bad with my history with older skaters. I thought he died of a car crash? Was he high on drugs or something?

Both Shao and P-Stone were in the passenger seat in drunk driving accidents but both in contexts where it was fairly obvious that they were fully aware of what was going on.

Ah sick. Just last night I watched an old Thrasher vid which had a fair bit of Shao footage in it, and I wanted to see more. I forgot that this docu was happening so thanks for posting the trailer.

Whoa, this is a must watch and a long time coming. The giant backside 180 at :52 in the trailer has been stuck in my head for decades. Went looking for it to post, couldn't find it and sure enough it was in the trailer. Still got this No Use for a Name song on a playlist.

.

Just searching youtube and there are a lot of good videos hidden down the list, but one I did come across was the 32 video compilation from Greg Carroll, which should make it a lot easier to see more of him.

First video is the start of the playlist:

I see I had already watched maybe half of them at some point or other, but it is good that there is a playlist created like this with a lot more all in the one place too.

Really any of the older videos with Phil, Wade, Dan and co were what got me really stoked on skateboarding.

This also has a good list:

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

That was beautiful.

Absolutely mind-blowing that he ollied UP the block on the infamous ditch photo.

Best skater ever.
