I mostly go on SLAP at work, but I'm quitting my job in exactly one month, thus I realised that I probably won't come here that often anymore. Y'know cuz I'll be living my life instead of shitposting hahaha.

I'm very thankful for all of ya'll. Even the kooks. So many, many kooks. So I wanted to give back and say thanks for all the memories.

So here's the deal: I'll give 5 random people who post in this thread £50 GBP ($67.55 USD), through banking or paypal or giftcards, however you wanna sort it. All you gotta do is tell me your favourite SLAP memory / moment of all time. No memory, no money. Simple as that.

Favorite memory has to be my first year on slap. 2019ish, for the first year I would just read comments. One after another. Not evening paying attention to who said what. Just laughing my ass off.

There was a stylin on you thread that had me rolling a couple years ago. Maybe it was berle? Idk

My favorite slap memory is when I was in the navy and my ship was steaming towards Australia.

I reached out to the pals to point me toward the best parks to skate and they absolutely delivered. Every port had me on a worthwhile mission thanks to everyone that contributed to my plans. It was the solo skate trip of a lifetime and absolutely wouldn’t have happened without slap pals’ intervention.

Yah some Rusty’s posts were epic too… diagrams of board mods were classic.  In recent memory, the nollie tre versacekid420 go fund me was a highlight, this place at times is just a bunch of shitty social media comments so it was rad to see for a hot minute at least that we were more than that……the blind faith and spite to kick down and send this kid was monumental.  Never went anywhere but it was a moment…..

Favorite memory is easily vk420 vs the hydrant saga. It really was an emotional roller coaster of funny bullshit. Shoutout to Jenkem for making is 10x more blown up then it should have been. The fact that some of us actually thought some rando was gonna even get over the hydrant is still funny to me.

Anyways even I don’t win da pounds just wanna say Salud gang 🫡. Even though this is just a site come to bullshit on every now and again I still value all the faceless profiles interacting here. Live ya life b.

The first pals video I was in, I think the third video, was definitely a highlight for me. That was such a fun experience to film for and to get to see everyone’s skating.

My older cousin got me into skating years ago, he lives in Texas I’m on the west coast we really only talk about music and skating when we see each other at family gatherings and keep it relatively impersonal on a deeper conversational level (the goings with most of my family).


We both use slap but never really talk about it or know each others usernames etc,  one family gathering he has his laptop open and is showing me demos he made and uses a browser to search a type of drum kit or something and the browser was open on slap, I see his username for a short moment and immediately recognized it as someone I’ve had short back and forth disagreements on posts with. Still to this day will see him on here and haven’t brought it up.

Might just take it to the grave.

My favorite memory is the sense of ancient history that the many years of posting has produced, and the sense of mystery and wonder at conversations I wasn’t a part of.

Like an old abandoned wooden barn or house in a field where nature has taken over and the owner finds no use in putting forth the effort to tear down and just leaves it to decay on its own, the abandoned threads and people long gone very much lived and existed here long ago, but no more: except in memory and digital relics.

I've been here for like 10 years (jesus, where does the time go??), so there are LOTS of good memories. But above all, the "Stylin on You" threads have left me in tears quite a few times. Some real funny mo'fos out there, and I salute all of you.

Also loved that line YOU drop in the other thread...."Fuck any sort of rule, find a way to talk to your heart and not your mind." That will stick with me, and it is great way for you to "sign-off."

I have a lot of good memories on here, many been said already. Lance Dawes answering my question in the q&a  was a cool personal slap moment. I like the characters that seem a little surreal, Tracer, LeDave,  there have been many. And I like that Slap reminds me constantly that no matter how big a skate nerd I think I am, there's always a bigger one out there.

I was lurking maybe 10 years ago and witnessed Complements4u give away an iPhone and other valuable possessions. It was weird and incredible, and he kept making weird and wonderful posts. That bear inspired me to eventually create an account and participate in this odd, wonderful community. I liked when Gipper disappeared. The guy was a public school teacher with anger issues. He talked a lot of shit about what he was going to do to Tony Trujillo after someone claiming to be Andy Roy’s girlfriend posted about TT being abusive, and then backed off. That thread was a shitshow.

The hydrant debacle is probably my next favorite. Did he get banned for saying inappropriate things, or was it because he never attempted it?

My favourite memories involve people becoming more real to me after knowing the previously only through the skate-related posts. Gipper being revealed as a teacher (I think even involved in psychological counselling!) blew my mind for instance. Same for many others.

Favourite moment though was surely when we collectively got Uncle Flea his new place.

I started drinking around noon, signing was at 7 at a boutique style shop in a very high rent part of town, I had already been told not to drink inside the store, anyway I cut in line to tell the chief I post on slap, the look on his face when I said that was priceless, was escorted out right after that

30 minutes later you started to act 'cool' again by calling everyone that in line for autographs 'nerds'. you did this about 3 times and i called you out on it and you said some more lame shit then the shop owner walked you out.

bottom line is you were drunk and acting like a dick for no damn reason except to give everyone the impression that you were cooler than them.

oh you also said "I SUCK' all loud like you were outting me or something, i agreed that you do suck.

your crashing of the signing was a miserable fail and everyone man, woman & child thought you were a kook
