The people who complain about wax probably think they're going faster than they actually are.

Graphic tees are a curse on you and the world.
Overpriced, childish in all the wrong ways, synthetic dyes and ink, waste of cotton, zero swag.

Skate companies in general should stop “making” merch. Unless the production is in-house, fuck your sweatshop factory, bottom-of-the-barrel cash grab.

But like, that's how they make money.

Exactly.
My 2nd point: most skate companies should not exist. We should move to a communal woodshop model and board brands dissolve as they can no longer deceive the consumer. These brands become “teams”. Teams employ a subscription based/crowdfunding model to share content. Fans of teams pay to “join”(or fund) the teams skating, and receive exclusive communication, photos and videos, and invites to meetups via snail mail or email. The concept of a team shifts from board brand to artist collective. This eliminates the board brand as a middle man, and bleeds into my next point: the petite bourgeoisie of the local skate shop and its subsequent need to die.

And skaters on the team who don't make enough money from skating can work for non-profits on the side, like making homemade fudge for the blind, or instructing interpretive dance classes for the elderly.

“Fudge for the blind” sounds like an Indy rock band

an opinion I've had as of late is that the wave of companies from the early to mid 10s (polar, dime, bronze, ect) don't really have relevancy nowadays and are just continuing on fumes. the majority of graphics in the last few years have just been completely awful. It's honestly time for the next generation of brands to emerge and a few of these to die.

Reminder this is the Unpopular Opinion thread...

After his Bunt interview, I'm weirded out by Ishod Wair.
Bringing up his hatred of cancel culture, I think multiple times, unprompted, really rubs me the wrong way.
I've never met a single cool person in my life who bitches about cancel culture, especially unprompted.

To be clear, I'm not trying to imply he has done something vile or supports someone who did, I just have a tendency to be repelled by anyone who is overtly whiny about "cAnCeL CuLtUrE", whether it's a legendary pro skater or just some dry-dick rando at the bar, I ain't really fuckin' with either of you.

That was his worst yet. Why is he doing this?

I see this, then I read the comments and I’m filled with so much contempt, disgust and ultimately disappointment. How did we get here? In what terminally online hell is a spindly  twat like Ricky Glaser being embraced by anyone? Why is Gary being given a platform and how is he so undeservedly confident in this dreadful bafoonery? He is the epitome of the dunning Kruger effect and should be publicly shamed for making a mockery of both skateboarding and hip hop.
