US Companies will go out of business due to tariffs and American imperialism making people want to buy product from non-US companies.

Nidecker closes down emerica/es & rebrands etnies to compete with the sketchers demo.

Ipath gets popular again after some celebrity starts wearing them.

Indy fully brings the cross back & stokes the culture war in skateboarding. Greyson Fletcher is the poster boy.

Spitfire/grimple collab with an octagonal shaped wheel & people post silly clips for a week on social media

Ooh, pre-flatspotted wheels! They become all the rage as cool kids seek out that distinctive flatspot chunka-chunka sound.

Curious, do you already know what Anti Rockers are for? These def aren't for skateboards... a couple of brands still make Hexagonal antis

It was supposed to make their Backside Royale grinds go further because the angle of the wheel edge lined up with how the wheel would be sitting?

A hairy wheel that you have to shave before use, then it's just a normal wheel with a 5 o'clock shadow.

Edit: and/or, I feel this would suit Snot Wheels - a wheel with squeezable blackheads/pimples.

More and more people follow Shecks' arc and entirely give up core/traditional skate sponsors and go the influencers' route with shitty sneakers brands and teamless board companies.

Chad Knight has been working with Chad Muska on bringing Muskas shoe to market (again?).  What was interesting is that The Knight was talking about how The Muska owns the silhouette and is really just outsourcing the construction of the shoe.  He sees a possible future where skaters own their own shoe, there is no shoe brand sponsoring them, and they just get connected in with factories that bring their design to life.  Im butchering this from memory but thats the gist of it, that skaters could opt for less brand sponsorship and be the brand themselves.

I remember hearing some idiots like P Rod, Mikey Taylor, James Cole or even Steve Borra (some geniuses, yes...) having the same conversation about boards. It was at the time that single board "Cobra Cole" was released and when P Rod was questioning the idea of starting Primitive as a board brand. It finally never really took off, and i am glad. I like the idea of a collective of skaters helping to define the identity of a brand.

I predict a Powell full-length that will lead into && SOTY run. The video will be hyped, and will try VERY hard to imitate the vibe of Bones Brigade videos. Cab, Lance, Tony, Rodney etc will all be marketed as being in the video, but really only have one or two tricks. The video will be just Okay. Kelvin Hofler will have the stand out part, but ultimately people will complain that there was too much of their actual team and not enough old dudes.

The new Powell video is just gonna be a supercut of every Dan Corrigan vlog from the last 3 years. It’ll only be accessible via a QR code that’s been printed on the top of flight decks.

I tried watching a Dan Corrigan video once or twice, it's always some title like "I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS BELOVED PRO SKATER WOULD SAY SOMETHING SO CONTROVERSIAL!!!"
Then after watching him eat breakfast, talk about his breakfast, get in his car, talk about his drive to the skatepark, get to the park, talk to his friends for 10 minutes, somewhere around the 17 minute mark of a 24 minute video he'll be like "Chris Heitt said yellow is the best Starburst flavor".

My prediction for 2026 - Gabbers remains the only rider to willingly leave Zero until late 2026 when, in a bittersweet move, Kairi Netsuke gets picked up by Plan B. Damn. We really wanted better for you Kairi but at least it's not Zero.
