ah shit beat me by like 15 seconds lol I'll delete my thread.

Seems like a chill app though. Hopefully they're able to keep copywritten songs on parts that are muted on youtube

Op, you ok man? Being real here, you doin alright?

oh man, right out of the gate i can't actually try the app or see what's up without paying... :(

i hate to be negative because it's cool when people try to make something new, but i'm wondering what needs the creators were anticipating this filling

Dumb grifter bullshit that's destined to fail. He fucked up if he put real money into this.

Some of these old pros really need to skate off into the sunset. There has never been such a high concentration of bullshit peddling in all my years following skating.

Seems like spotify for skateboarding? The skaters will maybe get half a cent every time someone watches their part

would be cool if it worked, but it would take millions of streams

Ave on defense confirmed

My question for ave is how much is really going to companies/skaters? I really can’t see the profits being that substantial and when it’s divided up assumingly three ways (company, skater, ave), seems like an insignificant amount of money. That part seems like a bullshit pr move to me. But i’m ready to be proven wrong

I actually think it looks good, clicking on a vid then selecting which part you want and you can see team mates like similar artists on Spotify. I just think unless it has exclusivity on big upcoming videos or something I can’t see people paying for something you can get for free with the den for a couple of cool features. I also can’t see any skaters making much money from this other than AVE himself.

Hope he didn't invest much in this...

Yeah... so what is AVE's cut? and why should I pay for a subscription when I already have a YouTube Premium account.

Hope he didn't invest much in this...

What happens if i watch Mindfield but i fast forward the upriver boys? Does Berra get anything? What about all the vert parts in old vids? What if I watch The Storm but only Chris Dobstaff - will Josh Kaspar see any revenue?

Sorry AVE, but making a career selling skateboard videos is long gone. TikTok and Insta fried this generation’s attention span. Erik Bragg tried this with ETN 10 years ago and now we’re even more inundated with skate media. There’s no way enough skaters will pay $10 a month for him to make a profit. It miiiiight work if Thrasher had an app that hosted videos with a decent media player and digital mags. Even then, nobody is paying $120 a year for something they get for free.

people love to say "such and such did whatever first" but that's competition. If the den was good, then Ave's service will just be dead on arrival. They gotta work on marketing. I forgot the den even existed

I would love a streaming service to acquire the rights to all the old 2000s-era contest series and TV programs. ASL, Captain and Casey, whatever contest it was that Chris Gentry used to dominate, which aired on Fox Sports. Or even just an all action sports streaming app.

Ave on defense confirmed

Are the skaters and companies sharing the streaming profits with the recording artists from the videos?

This is also the first thing I thought of when I read the details…but if anyone who follows music and musicians will know you don’t get paid shit from streams.

Do you guys actually think Ave masterminded this?  He rather believes in this and is getting a check or someone’s promised him ownership and after it falls on its face he’ll say he didn’t know what happened…..

No I also didn’t think it was his idea, sounds like something someone into AI would shovel not Ave
