I listened to this in the morning today. Not that much new information for the average video nerd, but I have to say Jerry comes across like such a likable dude.

I liked the interview/gimmick. I do wish Jerry had named names when he mentioned some songs were too good to be used on lackluster skating.

On the subject of Jerry and skate part songs, I can't think of a more appropriate fit and use of "Age Of Consent" than being used it his shared part with Louie in that Osiris video.

Interviewer's vocal fry was a bit much, but some good Jer nonetheless.
Now, we used to say we put on our tights to put on the world. So I don't think it tarnishes the image at all.

Those two always had such great song choices. Loved how Jerry skated to Halo Benders and Louie to Heavenly in Black Cat.

Yasi knows good music. She's also mentioned before how she came across a lot of music watching skate videos in the early 2000s. She probably seen photosynthesis.
Is it true?  Or did you read it on the slap message board?

Just listened, was pretty good. Loved that Jerry brought up two NW OG's, Steve Olson and Joe Mclellan, Tacoma, WA legends. Oh and S/O Jim Greeko

Glad I'm not the only one. I've tried listening to other episodes in the past but it's so hard on my ears. I powered through this one for Jerry.

I can understand why people might feel that way but having listened to a few episodes, she's clearly a head and really knowledgeable about music and culture (including a pretty solid grasp on skateboarding, judging by this episode). As I was listening to this, on several occasions I was thinking that she understands some of the cultural dynamics and unspoken rules of skateboarding more than the hosts of the two major dedicated skateboarding podcasts (the bar is on the floor though, let's be honest).

very cute story from Jerry about sending a fan letter to Elissa when he was a kid and including a photo he took of his mom lol this was a fun listen. Jerry should start his own podcast, he's way more insightful, funny, and pleasant to listen to than really anyone else in skateboarding media right now.

I didn’t see this thread when it came up but I periodically listen to Bandsplain and am just checking this episode out now.

I think Yasi is pretty attuned to skate culture in general. She’s from somewhere in the South Bay area of LA and has said before that she’s dated two well known pro skaters (I’ve always assumed Jerry was one of them because they’ve collaborated before).

Anyway, Jerry should get a podcast.

so I just wonder like how is she able to somehow understand skating better than the idiots on the nine club who are actually pros or were at one point lol
