After eversole left and the brand got passed around it felt like enjoi’s humor was watered down to please the new investors or whatever. Wonder if this time around it will have crude humor. I had atleast 2 enjoi boards that I bought in this time frame. A Deedz, and a Samaria deck. Enjoi's core product was cool, but like other legacy brands, they were drowning in a sea of dumb collabs.

 I talked to him on the phone... he told me to come over.
I pulled up in my ex-girlfriend's 1998 Honda Del Soul. knocked on the door. no answer. called him no answer.
the door was locked....
I don't know what possessed me but as I was walking back to the car I saw my cousins board in his car port.
I walked up. grabbed the board. It was an Enjoi and he had like an enjoi grip tape with a little tiny panda face.
I remember it like it was yesterday...
just staring at this little panda face and then my shoe just stomping straight through it's face and the bottom of my shoe connecting with the concrete perfectly as the board separated into two pieces and went flying in opposite directions in almost a slow motion fashion.
That's the only time I ever step foot on an Enjoi or had any interest in doing so.
I hope this time around they make the boards a little more durable this time because there was absolutely no resistance to my foot and based on my experience I would NOT buy one.

I set it up with some 60mm dragon wheels, like the fat nano-cubic style ones (I feel like they had just come out at the time) and kind of treated it as a cruiser at first, but it became such a fun setup that I skated it a lot and actually bought a backup of the exact same board. I don't think I've ever bought anything else from enjoi, but that board is rad.

Man Down and Bag of Suck are one of my favorite videos growing up and even from all of that, I have only bought one Enjoi board in my life. The deck I got was before Bag of Suck and the board didn't last long at all which is mostly why I never bought another one. With this reboot and me being 44 years old, I actually might buy one just for nostalgia sake. So the reboot sort of worked for me but I am only one person.

To their credit too, they sold out of everything on their website. I say keep it simple and no collabos.

I remember when I was a kid I was hyped on "BLIND: What If?" which was absolutely bonkers.. then Anti-Hero's " Tent City." which was kinda like "what the fuck is this?" I enjoyed the skateboarding and specifically wanted to see the Tony Trujillo and John Cardiel parts but I guess I was too young to appreciate it for what it was as a snot nosed 13 year old. then I remember being hyped for "Fully Flared" but I don't remember Enjoi's "Bag of Suck" promotions or ads around that time. when enjoi is mentioned, the first thing that pops into my mind is an orange advertisement with a panda and a funny slogan or something and then louie barletta and jerry hsu antics. I remember jerry hsu's Emerica ads.

maybe why I overlooked bag of suck as teenager was due to other videos being dropped at the time. idk.
