I hate to burst all your bubbles, but that's definitely not P-Rod or Javier Núñez (and I like his little Kids cameo and Menace/City Stars history as much as the next old head).

That's Joe Campos in that clip. Much love, but y'all need your eyes checked.
[close]

maybe it's because they're referring to the Javier Nuñez clips and not the Joe Campos clip..

Oof. My bad. I read that wrong and really thought y'all responded to this quote about "A kickflip over a bench to a back smith to fakie is not a pro clip, that's warm up shit, don't waste my time with that."

That was the Campos clip.

I kinda skimmed over the "one random dude in the awful Supreme sweat pants" part and thought he was confusing that kickflip and back smith clip as P-Rod.

Not seeing the forest for the trees is a thing I do sometimes.

I honestly didn't recognize Javier Núñez as a grown man because he's been off my radar since the old days. That makes total sense that he's with Stevie in this.

It’s crazy they just continue to waste our time with these “edits”. This shit is so fucking lazy I can’t stand it. Literally one good clip (Vincent Touz obv). Caleb too cool to re-do a trick. I’m so over the too-cool-to-try shit, just so lazy. And Prod is on Supreme now?? Woof

Where are u getting PRod from in this video lol. I think for their weird Nike SB shoes where they aren’t that skateable they just release these really rough short promos for IG but they’ve done better ones in the past for the dunks and blazers.

That one random dude in the awful Supreme sweat pants kinda looked like him and I thought it was funny.

I don't need a full part of bangers but try to film at least one good clip. A kickflip over a bench to a back smith to fakie is not a pro clip, that's warm up shit, don't waste my time with that. You're a pro skater, kickflip out at least or something, just try a little bit. They all think they're too cool so they can do the barest of minimums. It's so lazy and boring.

I’m not going to shit on you because you’re probably just young, and it would be a little unfair to expect you to know any of the east coast skate canon pre-Jake Johnson. Buuuut being this active on slap you probably should spend your time digging deeper in skate lore and watch some older stuff

The cliff notes is that Javier Nunez is a Puerto Rican from NY/NJ, he acts (Kids, how to make it in America, some random Coors Light commercial), was on City Stars, had a very lousy sponsorship history after City, is very entangled to Supreme lore/brand. He’s kinda better than it seemed at the time, but he never had enough footage at once.

He was also one of the first dudes where the logic of  “skateboard industry financials” started to look like bullshit, because he had some SHIT sponsors for 70% of the 2000’s but appeared to be doing just as well/sometimes better than dudes on more reputable companies.

I'm old as hell and definitely familiar with Javier Núñez and East Coast skate history. Sub Zero Real Life and Eastern Exposure 3 Underachievers were a couple of my favorite videos as a teen (not saying he was in these videos), saw Kids in the theatre, etc. so I was paying attention. I just had a epic brain fart and thought I was helping correctly ID a skater in a clip. Lo siento, mi amigo.

funny that caleb barnett is kept on just to farm aura in b roll

God, shuv over the six stair in the SF edit and bailed shuv over the miniature Lockwood picnic table. How is he passing as a professional skateboarder?

I was really hyped about his Hockey III part and thought he had a promising career. 8 years later it's just slow-mo weed smoking, goofy outfits, and shuvs/noseslides.

He might be a grifting douchebag these days but the guy is 46 still out street skating. There’s better things to clown him over.

I too was a fan of this. Ray Barbee outfits > goofy outfits.

I'm not exactly replying to defend but of all the examples to pick those were the two things I was impressed with the most. The SF shove was alley oop over a rail and the shove over the table was switch and not a bail. Granted, sure, I would have left it out but I did have to think for a while if anyone has switch shoved a table backside, and it has only been Eli Reed

Yeah this was my main thought after watching this, whole lotta tic tacs.
Do we think he made the free throw at the end?

I liked the SF video way more than this.

Bro needs to trade his mediums in and get some hards if he’s cranking em like that.
Also, I’m surprised he’s got em that cranked without the yellow core cracking or getting swallowed whole; those thangs usually disintegrate if you even look at em wrong.

You should try out for the Olympics with the level of mental gymnastics you’re doing to convince yourself that switch pop shuv is a make.

Caleb, you’re a professional skateboarder, redo the trick and land it proper

lol at the long balls allegations. I deleted that post cuz I decided it was gross of me to start speculating like that on here even though I do think that repost is weird.

Splitting hairs but a bail is abandoning ship and not committing, not simply not doing it. That needs to be explained? Never claimed it was a make and I said I wouldn't have put it in, per my last post, so I obviously know its not a make.

Caleb has probably one of the most devastating career flops in recent times. From being on Hockey at its prime, fully on Nike and Supreme to just Supreme, no shoe sponsor and on one of the least productive board brands available. Not to mention his skating has regressed, sad.

What I got from that video is that you aren't going to land much clean in those shoes
