Are you guys pumped for World Cup action? Seattle is hosting six games, which is pretty cool. Is your city hosting any games? Any predictions?

Honestly, least excited I’ve been for a World Cup in 20 years of active interest

The games are sometimes more entertaining to watch than club football, which has become a bit rehearsed to death. Then again it's often cagey.

Upset picks? I'm hoping for Scotland and Cape Verde.

Last one I cared about and watched was 2018. Boycotted the last one, can't see watching this one either.

I tried to boycott the last one, but I started to watch a few matches from the quarterfinals on. I have to admit here were some amazing matches.

I am hoping for some good football, but I lowkey hope my country Germany gets eliminated as soon as possible. We still have a weird relationship with national pride and it all comes out in football. I hate it when Günther, Jürgen and Renate from the office, who haven’t watched a match in four years, suddenly become the world’s biggest football fans.

yeah, i will probably get sucked into watching a few matches...

i just hope we (meaning immigration and customs and law enforcement) can treat foreign fans with decency.

I hope for Scotland too, but they’re in a group with Morocco and Brazil which is cruel…unless there’s some format change in this WC

Was excited for the World Cup, but now I'm just expecting news of ICE detaining and deporting every team from Latin America, Africa, and Asia.

Saved up for years, but between tickets, hotels, transportation, it will cost me more than a semester of university. Hell the tickets alone for some games are the equivalent of 5 years of season tickets and a shirt for my local club.

7 matches are being played here. Won't be going. The prices are quite simply ridiculous. I'll watch a few at home.

I hope to see Iran, they earned their spot. If they do get replaced it needs to be another team from Asia. Hilarious that Italy just deserves the charity spot after failing to qualify for 3 straight world cups.

I think that's how it is in every major football country honestly....that national pride kicks in and people go nuts. it's good and bad. anyways I'll watch it with my kids, especially youngest son who is deep into it. his whole room is like a shrine to psg and les Bleus!
I have hopes for the French team but I also dread the kind of WC where our team is overhyped and then does....nothing. the 2002 and 2010 editions still sting in my mind ! 2002 we were title holders, winners of Euro.... and did not score a single goal.

Do other countries do the Panini sticker albums? In Colombia it’s a huge fucking deal. My son is way into it, and to be fair, it’s pretty fun for me too to see him get so amped up.

I like the infrastructure improvements and investments to better my city

At the same time, fuck FIFA. I'd love to see this event be a wet blanket. It'll suck if we don't hit any of the projected revenue numbers, but we'll survive.

Now my sons have the 2018 edition 100 % complete I think.

My friend got two tickets for canada vs qatar in Vancouver in June.
He said he bought me a jersey as well, so I have to go.

It's going to be a quick visit down to Vancouver to take in the game since it's on a Thurs, but it'll be fun.

Haha. Maybe it's just me but if someone bought me tickets to Canada v Qatar I'd have to assume they're trying to end the friendship.

Yup. I think that's the only time when the fall out of some football rucus impacted international relations. For France at least. That and Schumacher taking out Battiston in the box at the 82 WC.

No more Panini after 2030.  The fucks just signed up with Fanatics/Topps
