Very Alien type part which I dig but I swear if it was edited another way, I feel like he could still fit on Primitive or even April. He just has that really good skating that fits those companies. Granted I am not a huge Quasi fan but him and Dick Rizzo are like total opposites. I guess that is sort of a cool thing considering April and Primitive only have these heavy hard hitting type skating.

incredible part, nice to a young goat developing into a mature skater. the next Ishod in terms of riding the line between pure talent, style, trick selection, and mainstream marketability.

i'm left wondering why this part wasn't included in the full length video Quasi just released a month ago though. i initially figured it was because he hadn't had enough time to film on Quasi boards but quite a bit of this part was filmed on Primitive boards anyways so that doesn't really check out... if he needed an extra couple weeks to get footage why not push the video back and drop it all as one? can't rightfully give him last part on his debut with the company (he would've probably deserved it) but Jaeb opener/Rizzo closer would've gone hard and including him would've felt like a cohesive signifier of his addition to the team.

i guess i understand wanting to make a big splash with no distractions for the Jaeb announcement though, so maybe that's reason enough to separate it. just seems like weird timing.

Wow. As others have mentioned before, the Fakie Ollie that huge gap was really a standout. Lots of tasteful tricks, the alley-oop Frontside Flip over the rail was so powerful. Ender is obviously absolutely fucked. Great part, I loved the editing and music selection, too.

I’ve had too many fakie heels ending up with my board trying or succeeding in stabbing me in my balls and asshole.

Dude absolutely slays that trick.

What an absolute triumph of a part. This is what winning skateboarding looks like.

Holy shit that was sick.

I used to walk up and down that brick double set every day on my way to work back in the day that he fakie heeled, and it's a pretty massive double set. Definitely not easy to skate and he did that one so properly. One of my favorite tricks in the part.

Watched two more times. I think the only criticism someone may have is not enough lines (I think there's two only)

Someone should GIF half of these clips. The flick in his fakie heel manual in courthouse is beautiful

gnar for catching that.

I liked the fakie double flip manny too.

He does mention both Heath Brinkley and Taylor McClung, so I doubt he's all that salty.
[close]

yea and there are a couple clips of him riding primitive decks in this video, which presumably primitive okay'd the use of? so that would mean there's not really much bad blood

No need to speculate.  There’s an interview in Thrasher where he discusses all of this.  Just basically wanted something different and Jason Nam’s filmer was the connecting point to Quasi.   No beef with P Rod because he doesn’t run anything there so Jaeb barely met him.   Prod’s like Tony Hawk/Gonz/Templeton with their brands.

A little less b-roll and a post-Rincon ender would’ve made this near perfect part perfect.

does anyone know why his upper body is blurred/ pixelated at 1:14? Doesn't look to be a 'branded' sort of shirt or anything.

That felt great.
Dear friends of Dylan,
Please keep him away from alcohol and golf carts so we can enjoy his skating for at least another 10 years.
Thank you.

Part was absolutely amazing but I'm bummed if our thread took away the smiling after each trick Dylan and gave us another dude who looks pissed after each trick.  I want him smiling and looking like he gives zero fucks and is enjoying life to the fullest ... like a CK or an Aimu again

Different editor and art direction for the Jaeb video. It’s why Bobby’s parts are solo too.

I would love to see a Mother 2 style video, but also appreciate that Quasi now has a cast of editors for one-off solo parts. Doesn’t seem to be tension around it either since Morrison did coloring for the Jaeb part.

loved everything about it. Also idk if it's just me, but I feel like I can tell in a part when someone is thinking "I've got too many backside kickflip tricks in this thing, time to film a frontside heelflip!" anyways really psyched on the fakie double flip manny and the switch front shuv nosegrind on the out ledge

His images wouldn't work well alongside Quasi's last video because, together with the rest of the team, it would show that he's on a much higher level. Without taking away from the individuality of each member of the team (which is incredible), looking at it from that perspective, it makes sense that it was a solo piece.

Jaeb part would not have fit in Hard Reset.

Someone else mentioned Rizzo and Jaeb being polar opposites

They did it perfectly. Everyone had room to shine

I know theyre branding him as a fakie flipper but that fakie heel is a thing of beauty

Watched too many times already, and getting ready to watch it again

Cant wait to see them all in some sort of tour video

patiently waiting for BOD

Lol. Eldee is definitely a human. He’s like a raider on horse back who’s kinda scared to do battle. Somehow he closes his eyes and swings his sword wildly and wakes up in a pile of dead orcs.

I used to have a really good one, until I credit carded so bad doing one in a game of skate. Only took that one instance to banish that trick to the deepest pits of trick hell.

Anyone doing fakie heels in any substantial way is a fearless barbarian in my book, and I commend them.
