Dad Olson won the first vert/bowl series and was voted skateboarder of the year. Still kinda involved in skateboarding in his 60s. Alex is an all time great as well though.

There needs to be an entire episode of Epicly Laterd on the orange beanie era. A trend that was definitely everywhere but somehow only exists in web clips from 2008/2009.

Orange beanies were definitely ubiquitous for awhile, I think that one AO has on at like 1:10 is a Sonic Youth one, like he was wearing in this photo from his TWS am spotlight interview from ~ 2007

And its crazy how slim shorts, thin v necks t shirts and low vulc boat shoes, like the Era. (Yes, its a boat shoe) with no socks were a skateboarding outfit.

That line was from 2011, a year after the Dylan Gravis part came out, so v necks were very hot at the time
