I agree he could skate a lil faster, but I also think the filming and editing did him a little dirty. Lots of long range shots with 3+ seconds of roll up left in, that's gonna exacerbate the perceived lack of speed 10 fold. Lots of roll away left in too, just a pretty slow paced edit in general. Maybe a bit more thoughtful filming and editing could have helped?
EDIT - just realized my reply is basically just a wordier version of exactly what you said, haha...

The editing on Leo's My World part, which I like, illustrates this point perfectly i think. Short roll up footy, quick cuts after lands, but you can tell there's some similar almost dead stoppage happening when you look for it.
Now, we used to say we put on our tights to put on the world. So I don't think it tarnishes the image at all.

do you think they didn't say who filmed it intentionally? this was the best trick too.

took out Gino. Since Leo is a man, do we hold him to a higher standard in skating?

Hmmmmm

I was watching this actively wondering if the hormones involved in transitioning have made them weaker cause their skating in this is definitely less powerful than it was in the past few years. Leo also been in the game like 20 years tho could just be getting old

trying to take this for what it is as realistically just a lil light footy drop to keep things moving for Tacky and I've traditionally been a big fan of Leo... but this was not his best work. didn't help to set expectations that they hyped it up a fair bit and had a premier and everything. he's in his mid 30s now so could just be a getting older situation but he could really stand to take one more push on all this stuff. he's also a very tech skater and great at manuals, which can lend itself better to slower speeds, but that wasn't really present here either. would've loved to see some of that nose manny nollie heel/nollie inward type stuff he's so good at. the style is still there and some fun spots in there as well so i know he's still got it, hoping for a return to form on the next one.

fuck all the transphobic shit in this thread though, if you can't critique someone's skating on its merits then shut the fuck up

half the slides came to a stop

I hate to say it, but this part has all the energy of a 47 year old TM “trying to keep up with the crew at the sesh.”

Was really hoping for far fewer deadstop slides and barely moving roll-aways.

Shoulda called the part Deadstop lol.

In all seriousness though it’s cool seeing Leo still skating and flipping into ledge tricks after being in the game so long. Props to anyone out there getting clips cause I know I sure ain’t lmao

Also agree, she needs to skate faster

Any particular reason you turned out to be such a scumbag?

Just lazy, brainless trolling from some dumbass who, being a useless moron even a mother couldn't love, can't get attention for anything other than being a stupid fucking loser.

Dude is doing rad for being up there in age, always good to see some Leo footage, hopefully even better shit to come.

Leo is the guest on the newest Beyond Boards Podcast episode.
Good listen, seems like such a thoughtful and relatable person, made me wish I could skate a session with him and that's very rare for me cause I've always been a big "don't meet your heroes" person.
I'd highly recommend giving it a listen.

Allen.

Agreed. He hasn't had an easy life by any means. And I really enjoy Beyond Boards - the format is cool how he has friends ask questions.
