Every time I see that casper stall on the bricks I have to stare at it for a good while and not get any work done.

I remember seeing that press release saying Enjoi was back a while ago. It would have been so cool to have seen Marc somehow have been apart of that and reissued old graphics/aesthetic. One of the best to ever do it. Rest in peace.

What's the last known public footage/clips of Marc? I know there's many of us that are wondering if he even just pushed around anymore

I always liked how he looked up to Lotti in the on series. It’s nice when you get to hear thoughts on some one else very thoughtful.

Someone did post what they claimed was the last skate footage of him.  I’ll try and locate it it, but he was in a warehouse skatepark trying a tech manual trick iirc

Reminiscent of the Greco car slam, which coincidentally was also filmed by Joey Sinko if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks, had no idea how I was gonna find that.

Speaking of MJ - love that I just came across EMB footage of him from the Maple ‘94 part.  It’s amazing to track his presence in skating from how many spots he skated.   Rowley released some footage of him skating a popular 99-02 10 stair rail that never made it into any parts, but was just so cool to see that he crossed paths with him and was trying his thing there.

This was a really cool side-by-side with MJ and the enjoi team, what got released in Yeah Right and those around the same time. I watch Jerry / Louie on Osiris Subject to Change regularly and this puts a new light on the entire already amazing part.

There's no way that's the last known footage of him skating, right?
Did he not film anything at all during the Business & Company run? (Yes I know it wasn't very long)

There is a longer version of that no?

He had roughly 3 skits with business and company. Can't look right now tho.

That session has clips which have been posted in a few accounts in early December 2020, which seems so long ago now.

Post from Business and Company account, linked to Joey as well.

This sent me down a mental rabbit hole wondering if maybe he went out for one last session, knowing it'd be his last, or did one day he throw his skateboard in the trunk and just never picked it up again. If he knowingly took one last ride, where did he go, what did he do, what was the last trick he did before he said "well, that'll do".
God damn I really gotta reign in my thoughts, I've never been this parasocial before.

I didn't think much of David Bowie's "Five Days" back in the day, but it seems like that song might as well have been written especially for Marc Johnson's "Yeah Right" part.  That's some "Dark Side of the Moon"/ "Wizard of Oz" magic...o.k. maybe not, but still perfect.

Same with how I felt with “Adios Horses” on his Hot Chocolate part

It's always a conflicting feeling watching waves of adoration come out for someone when they're dead, but he really needed this to happen while he was still here.  We need to do massive love bombs for people who are known to be struggling so they at least know how people feel while in the depths.

That Promise Ring riff with Marc skating is, for me, the most iconic moment in the history of skateboarding. How can such a fleeting moment shape our lives forever.

I read every single comment on the post believing that if I kept reading, somehow those comments would bring Marc back. As if I didn’t want to accept that he’s gone. As if writing my own comment would mean personally accepting that he’s no longer here.

Marc Johnson, you’ve left a huge void in this world.

Long time lurker, I had to make an account.

Just wanted to say thank you to all of you for this shared love for Marc Johnson. Sharing everything including social media posts (not on there anymore). It still hurts. Like others, Goodbye horses and A Picture Postcard showing up over and over in my mind. With skateboard sound effects, of course.

Incredible feeling of loss. Of societal failure. We fail individuals like this over and over. They might have a weakness here and there, but they counter by giving the world 1,000% in everything they do. Big hearts should be protected.

Marc elevated skateboarding, making it so potent. I loved his kung fu/tai chi landing/roll aways. Perfect one-motion type of shit. His switch push, so immaculate. And those parts, that balance jfc. Still hit. Always will.

In his interview with Anthony Pappalardo, he accurately describes what technology has done, how it has stolen intangible things. That was almost ten years ago.

I can’t imagine how he felt the past few years walking around. People are 25/8 on their damn devices. I’ve seen people who can barely cruise at the park, set up a tripod. It’s like no one likes effort or commitment these days. Everything is about the illusion.

That must have felt crushing for someone like Marc Johnson.

My sincere condolences to his family and friends. And if you're struggling, a sincere big hug to you.
